Ques. Is the B.Sc. (Hons.) Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology at BHU a good course? What are the career prospects?
Ans. Yes, this is one of the most reputed programmes in this field in India, offered by IMS BHU which has one of the largest teaching hospitals in Asia. Graduates are trained on advanced imaging equipment including MRI, CT, X-ray, and ultrasound. Career prospects are strong with growing demand for trained radiographers in government hospitals (AIIMS, PGI, ESIC), private hospital chains (Apollo, Fortis, Max), and diagnostic centres. Starting salaries range from Rs. 3-6 LPA, and with experience, professionals can earn Rs. 8-12 LPA. Many graduates also pursue M.Sc. or PG Diploma for specialisation.
Ques. How many seats are available and what is the CUET cutoff for this course at BHU?
Ans. There are only 15 seats available for this programme at BHU (FMC - main campus). The competition is extremely high. In CUET UG 2025, the General category cutoff was approximately 628 marks (Round 4). SC/ST/OBC candidates have lower cutoffs as per reservation norms. There are no paid seats for this Special Course, unlike regular B.Sc. programmes.
