The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.

Dislikes

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

TIET Review

Likes

The campus life provides good exposure and networks.
The culture pushes you to enroll in different society and sports activities.
Placements are better than other private colleges.

Dislikes

The syllabus they used to isn't up to the mark.
If you want to get placed then different online courses are required, can't depend on the college to give you a practical experience.
The counselling department isn't empathetic or helpful for the students.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester everyone starts looking for internships and also start applying for the off campus placements and on campus placements begin in 7th semester. Companies like Amazon, Rubrix, Paytm, Delloite etc. visit the campus and depending on the profile provides a certain package.About 98% students get placed in elections and computer related branches.

The thing which I appreciated the most was the infrastructure of the campus which was very beautiful and professional. The academic block is so well maintained with proper air-conditioning.
The campus is lush green campus with beautiful garden.

Placement Experience:

Generally the placement drives starts during semester 3. Few name of the companies which visits campus Is Deloitte, American Express, Oxane Partners, Nestle & L'oreal etc. Highest package is 24.81 LPA & Average package is 8.17 LPA.

Overall life and brief about the LM Thapar school of management

Likes

Professors are very skilled and PhD holder with good experience
As the Part of Culture committee organizing event is very easy because staff is very supportive.
Infrastructure of college is very Good .

Dislikes

The placement Record is not good, Job Profiles did not match the student study or student profile.
ROI is very less , according to their fee structure it is definitely not value for money college.
There is a connectivity Issue , City is Far away from the college.

Placement Experience:

Placements record is very bad ,Maximum students do MBA or any other course for the placments. But here 25-30% students who are willing to get placed are still left for the placements and maximum roles offered here is not matched the candidate requirements or profile. Average placements is lower then expected it is around 5-6 LPA . And the highest package is around 12.5 LPA .

Thapar University- A boon or a bane

Likes

The college campus is serene, vast and has everything you need
Good extracurricular activities, ample of time
Good infrastructure, hostels, academic blocks

Dislikes

College in time is 8pm. Not really appreciated
Most cultural events happen a week before exams
Too many students(~20,000 in all 4 years combined)

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is offered for all branches. Good companies ranging from Oracle to Deloitte to Bain and Co. for various tech and non-tech roles offer decent packages for freshers. Tech companies pay better

Great Campus like all facilities are there and a huge campus to hangout
Inside shops are there, you don't need to go outside the campus everything is provided inside only
Nirvana Park and Skywalk are main attractions of it.

Dislikes

75% attendance issue can be sometimes annoying.
Exams are too much MSTs, ESTs, sessionals.
Saturday should be off for 1st semester also

Placments are really good i would around 12-14L one can expect after 4 years. Thapar porvideds a lot of opportuinites for students, the thing is you have to grab each opportunity and how you utilise them

Thapar University : A Blend Of Quality Education And Strong Placements

the professors were highly knowledgeable and cooperative , always willing to guide students even beyond academics.
the course is designed in good aspect with a perfect blend of theoretical and practical concepts ensuring strong foundation in subjects
The university provides a great placement service as many students got placed at high paying jobs

Dislikes

My Course had only 3 students which led to limited group discussion and networking
The intense competition created pressure among students

if there are no backlogs student first gets a chance to be placed at a good company as an intern after 2 sem internship usually is for 3 & 4 sem. College makes sure you get a great company with high stipend and ppo offer also. after the internship completion either the student get placed at the same company or the placement drive also begins from 3 sem only where you can apply and get interviews with the organization

Worth the Money

The campus vibe the classrooms the studies the food outlets and all necessary items availablity
all cosmetics and stationery are available inside the campus itself
even the salon is available and the hostels n food is nice

Placement Experience:

The placement is great. It is certainly 90% and above for girls overall and 80% and above for boys a lot of top companies like microsoft google apple visit the campus and a lot of startups also do mass hiring

Its all really nice

Likes

The hostel room is very nice and that can be cleaned by cleaners if you want
The mess is also pretty good and comes with a variety
The boys to girl ratio is approximately 20:14

Dislikes

There is the 75 percent attendance criteria which is hard to follow
Most of the girls are allready in a relarionship

Course Curriculum Overview:

The courses and the ciriculum are really helpful including courses such as proffesional comunication and manufacturing processing so it can help us a lot and then there are subjects like maths i dont really get why is it still teaching i just hate it

My life at Thapar: Journey of learning and Fun

Infrastructure, modular classrooms, opportunities in terms of sports athletics, different societies for different hobby and purposes.
Overall a good opportunities for extra curricular sector.

Dislikes

Mass admission, seats are increasing every year on large scale.

Placement Experience:

From the 5th semester onwards companies come for summer internships for 6th semester summer break, and if you succeed in getting an internship you can easily get a PPO after completing the internship. Companies for placements start coming from the 7th semester onwards, Majorly big companies come for placements for eg, Apple comes for internship and PPO, Big 4 companies, Samsung Swiggy, Zomato, Ola, L&T, Texas Instruments, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki etc. As students have increased in the courses in the past few years placements are declining because companies come for 5-10 only and the large pool of students apply and get rejected.

Thapar University: A gateway to exposure and vibrant campus life

Likes

Peers make the campus good, it is the only private college where placements are equal to NITS.
Campus is so beautiful giving positive vibes.
Infrastructure like computer labs, library, lecture halls are world-class.

Dislikes

Hostel food is not good. But there are hostel canteens that make up for it.
Fees is too much and increases 10% every year.

Placement Experience:

Placements for circuital branch is very good. Around 90-95 percent students get placed in these branches, most companies visit during 7th semester. Companies like JP Morgan, Deloitte, DE shaw, Arcesium visit campus every year. For core companies like L&T, Maruti visit regularly.

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.

Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.

However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.

Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.

Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.

The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
