All About IIT ISM DHANBAD !

Likes

The campus area is quite big with all the facilities available.
There are numerous food stalls in the campus.
The seniors are very helpful and encouraging.

Dislikes

Mess food is sometimes not upto the mark.
Some professors do not teach well and students have to refer other resources.
Hostel services could have been improved. There are no air conditioners in the classroom.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements starts from the 7th semester. Interships start from the 5th semester. Google , Zepto , Amazon, Flipkart, Texas Instruments, Jaguar, BNY MELON, Goldman Sachs are some companies. Highest package for this season was around 60 lpa .

Life, Internships and Placements at IIT Dhanbad.

Likes

Good girls to boys ratio and environment.
Good infrastructure and basic facilities.
Good hostel facility and good sanitation.

Placement Experience:

Placement is pretty nice. This year the highest placement offered was 80lpa by Amazon Japan. Many people received PPO's from several companies and other recieved offers on the campus. Interships are also offered.

It is a lush-green campus, with heritage having the most beautiful garden filled with varieties of flowers and plants.
There are vending machines at every major building like every Hostel, Library, i2H and iRH buildings etc. so you can grab anything quick to eat or drink.
The campus has mini electric rickshaws that charge only 8 rupees and can get you anywhere in the campus under that cost (saves a lot of money and time).

Dislikes

The mess food is the worst thing in this college, the mess caterers are just not ready to listen to demands of students and would keep serving the same shitty food.
The college's fests aren't anywhere close to that of top 7-8 IITs or even top NITs and lacks behind in infrastructure for big events during any fest.
The classrooms look pretty old and have the old-school classroom look to it.

At our campus, internship opportunities begin in the 5th semester for third-year students and in the 7th semester for integrated course students (fourth year). There is a bag full of companies that offer internship during intern season, but some of the famous ones are Google, Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Samsung Research, Walmart, CISCO etc. For full-time placements, companies start recruiting in the final year, typically during the 7th semester, while for integrated course students, it happens in the 9th semester. A diverse range of companies visit our campus for placements, including Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Nvidia, Texas Instruments, Zepto, Goldman Sachs, PhonePe, Paytm, Meesho, and many more. The offered salary packages generally range from ?6 LPA to ?30 LPA, with the lowest package around ?7-8 LPA and the highest reaching ?80 LPA. On average, around 68% of students secure placements through on-campus recruitment, while the remaining students found opportunities through off-campus placements.

There are so may fests and lots of fun activites and hostels are good.
Faculty are good and they are cooperaitve.
There is a good senior junior connection and they help in opportunities like internship and placements and exams clearing strategies

Dislikes

I think the quality of mess food served can be better .
Campus is not that big like other old IITs .
Management is not that intereted in soliving problem of students.

From third semester u are eleigible for intern opportunities and after 7th semester on campus placements are started . The companies that come to our colllege are Google , Microsoft ,Amazon,Paypal, Flipkart ,phonepay , Walmart , BNY melon, salesforce , ONGC, IBM, Oracle ,sprinklr , samsung ,. The highest package is 83 lacs and avg package was 16.9 lacs in my college. Percentage of students placed 91 percent . I am trying to beconem SDE .

Interaction to all students, this is good thing in this campus
College library is a very good in manner of books and all things
Well maintained campus is One of the good thing in our college

Dislikes

Food quality is average in our mess i think it could be better
Management system is very poor they take strict disision only towards students but not for authorities
Girls boys ratio, it is 3:7 which is very less

In today's time placement is average because of low acceptance rate in Market but as compare to other colleges in our area it's far better, so many big companies came to over college. My plan for future is apply for psu area.

The central library that contain lakhs of books
The NVCTI which is a Technical society in ism
different different clubs such as Dance , debating , chess etc.

Placement Experience:

The placement percentage is very good in my college. Student gets placement on the basis of their performance, like coding skills and good performance in interviews. The average package that any company provides is 12LPA, which is a good thing for a bachelor. In any case, if someone isn't placed on campus then he can apply for off-campus, in this scenario one definitely get placement .

Nothing Much Just a Student Review

Hostel rooms for the sophomers and the prefinal years are pretty good.
The canteens that are in various hostels are good
And finally the most famous place in the campus Ramdhani Tea shop, if you are a true tea lover ,you would definitely love it

Dislikes

Mess food which the most common thing that any hosteller would say.
Entry timing for the hostels which way to bad
And random room checking that we cannot even cook our own food

Placement Experience:

Students with the base Cummulative Grade Point Average of the companies which visit the campus for recruitment are eligible for attending the Online test and the companies short list some students and thenn conduct interviews and finally recruit them. The same is for the internships. The studnets with internships are most likely to get placements first, the the remaining students

THE IIT'AN LIFE

Likes

The campus- Its absolutely beautiful full of greenary. You can definetly enjoy the campus life, and the experience of enjoying the nature. The campus looks amazing particularly in the season of winter. We all used to enjoy the campus and the .
The faculty is the best. Pursuing a phd all the proffesors have got their phds from foreign institutes, and nobody can better qualify for teaching than them.
The canteen food is also the best thing in the campus. There is even a dominos outlet in the campus.

Dislikes

There are some entry restrictions into hostels which i didnt like.
There is even restricted timing for library. I want it to be open all day and night.
The fests need to have more budget, cause it make the student experience beautiful

Placement Experience:

The placements are so good.You can even get foreign companies either you want to go into core or a non core background. An the average package given by the companies is absolutely worth it. Nearly 90% of students get placed

behind the mines , a deep dive into iitism dhanbad.

peer group , we find people of similar mindset so that we can combine and grow together
fest , we participate in first 2 years , in next 2 years we organize fest so we get skills required for organization and leadership skills etc
college elections , which give good clarity how political system works in world and we develop leadership skills

Dislikes

no AC in class rooms , lack of infrastructure due to very old campus
lack of fund from allumnis , may iits get good fund but not us
too hot in summers and too sold in winters , heaters are not allowed in winters

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose CSE because of my interest in coding, etc..., but here the main development goes on mining-related branches. The 2023 curriculum is very old-fashioned in that old topics are there but for 2024 batch curiculam changed and they are having latest topics

Campus is very vibrant .There are many grounds ,gardens ,tress and buildings all around making it a rich experience
Mining engineering Professors are very chill and we can ask them any questions regarding the subject at any time in the class.
Senior junior interaction is little weird as you hv to call your seniors sir and ma'am ,but that's all right and seniors always try to help their juniors the most .

Dislikes

There is culture of intro for juniors which they give to seniors in proper attire .
Lesser facilities for sports compared to other iits.
Restriction on hostel timings is a big issue

Placement Experience:

After 6 th semester students become eligible for placements . There are fewer internship opportunities in my branch . Placement percentage is around 70 percent incampus ,rest go for higher studies and off campus placement

IIT Dhanbad ranks 15th among the Engineering category by NIRF 2019. It is a much older establishment than IIT Bhubaneswar. The fee structure for BTech in ECE at IIT Dhanbad is 2,30,120 for one year. It Requires a JEE ranking of 3000-10000 for ECE. The ECE department of IIT Dhanbad has seen 60% placement of students with an average annual salary package of 15 lakhs per annum and highest being 39 lakhs per annum. IIT Dhanbad has a total of 332 faculty members who are highly qualified and experienced members. Out of total, 315 members are Ph.D. holders.

IIT Bhubaneswar ranks 17th in the Engineering category by NIRF 2019. It is one of the newer IITs. The students with JEE ranking between 2000-7000 are eligible for Electrical Engineering in IIT Bhubaneswar. IIT Bhubaneswar in 2019 has seen 89% placement in the Civil Engineering Department with an average annual salary package of 11 lakhs per annum, 39 lakhs per annum being the highest. IIT Bhubaneswar has a total of 145 faculty members who are highly qualified and Ph.D. holders. IIT Bhubaneswar has 2 hostels for boys and girls each. Thus, IIT Dhanbad will be a better option to study ECE than Electrical Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar because, Being one of the oldest established IITs, IIT Dhanbad is known for its quality of education and their campus life. It also has better and more experienced faculty members.
