Life, Internships and Placements at IIT Dhanbad.

Comprehensivelly my course is very nice and I like it here. I think more practical knowledge should be added rather than thoerectical knowledge and more field visits should be incorporated to make students more better.

Internship opportunities are pretty good in our college. Nearly 300 people secured a internship in their third year in sde and core companies. It was purely on campus opportunity and also some people got off campus offers. Some people especially girls got internship opportunities with companies like Google, uber and flipkart in their 2nd years also.

Placement is pretty nice. This year the highest placement offered was 80lpa by Amazon Japan. Many people received PPO's from several companies and other recieved offers on the campus. Interships are also offered.

Per semester tution fees is 100000 and hostel and mess fees is 18000. Extra curricular fees is 20000 approximately. Scholarships are available. For instance people with income less than 1 lakh per annum can avail 100% tution fees waiver. 1-5 lakh get 66% waiver. And also merit cum means scholarships are also available.

Extracurricular is nice. You can participate in inter IIT competitions. I myself went to inter iit sports at IIT Indore. It was a very nice experience. Inter IIT cultural is also organized at IIT patna.

Hostel mess is bearable. It's neither very good nor very bad. But you can eat it. Sometimes you might feel it's too bad. Complains are filed once in a while and it improves the quality. Canteens are nice and affordable.

IIT is the epitome for engineering and according to my rank I was getting Dhanbad only. I am satisfied and also it has good facilities, infrastructure and in every aspect it is suitable for me. It's a best option.

Faculty to student ratio is pretty nice and I have really good professors. There are 6 professors and each group of 5 students have a personal mentor alloted to them for the regular checking of their well-being.

One technical test, one technical interview and one hr interview. All questions were asked from core of Mechanical as Caterpillar is a mechanical company. Lastly 2 month intership was offered for summer.

One problem is the night in time in hostels. It's 12 at midnight. So we actually don't know how is the night life here. The main gate closed at 10pm and the hostel gate at 12 especially for girls. For boys it's lenient.
