- fest , we participate in first 2 years , in next 2 years we organize fest so we get skills required for organization and leadership skills etc
- college elections , which give good clarity how political system works in world and we develop leadership skills
Dislikes
- no AC in class rooms , lack of infrastructure due to very old campus
- lack of fund from allumnis , may iits get good fund but not us
- too hot in summers and too sold in winters , heaters are not allowed in winters
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose CSE because of my interest in coding, etc..., but here the main development goes on mining-related branches. The 2023 curriculum is very old-fashioned in that old topics are there but for 2024 batch curiculam changed and they are having latest topics
Fees and Financial Aid
the one time charges during admission is 13,400. coming to semester 10,600 is cost of other fees such as research/project , fest fund etc. 8,400 for exam fee, medical fee ,internet library etc. tuition fee is 1lakh general and obc , tuition fee for sc/st/pwd is nill. for sem total fee payable is 1,32,000 for gen/obc whereas 32,000 for sc/st/pwd. Fee gets reduced by 1lakh is your family annual income is below one lakh. fee gets reduced by 50% if your annual family income is from one lakh to 5lakhs. coming to scholarships , scholarship named MCM is credited for students of low income and having cgpa 7+ etc
Campus Life
technical fest named concetto takes place in monsoon semester . cultural fest named srijan in winter semester. sports fest named parakram in winter semester. our library is asias 2nd largest library you will get all books in hardcopy and you can allocate them to hostels for one month free of cost. free wifi all campus , ac in library , study hall which can accommodate 10000 students at a time . many sports and extracurricular activities like club events and sports tournament occur. student clubs are 31 in number we get wide exposure due to them. overall expiernece was good
Hostel Facilities
for 1st year students a small room for 2 students. for 2nd and 3rd year big room for 2 students whereas in 4th and 5th year one student per room. each student is allotted a bed , a chair , a table , a cupvoard , room has 2 fans for 2 student room. meal is good comparative to remaining iits and menu is ok , we get used to it , overall it looks average. registration process for hostel happens within 10mins when you come to campus for 1st time.
Admission
ive applied for cse in many colleges like iit bombay,madras,delhi etc but due to my rank I got placed in iit dhanbad. I've also applied for ece branch in iit bombay,khargpur ,kanpur etc but I didn't get seat there. i also applied for mnc at iit varanasi . I've written exams for VIT,BITS , but IIT is my main dream so I took seat in iit. admission process is as follows , you need to get good rank and you need to give priority of its and branches , according to your jee advanced rank you will be allotted and there are 6 rounds of allocation of seat
Faculty
around 300 professors are in campus and 7000 students overall including mtech,msc,PhD etc. some are highly experienced some are new to teaching professions. few faculty interact with students where as few wont have interaction like oe to one interaxtion.
Night Life
Night life is awesome part in our college , we celebrate frnds bdays at night 12 . many start gaming , some do studying some do group singing . GYM is provided in 2 hostels and main gym is also available from 2nd year . 10 hostels are there in campus and each hostel accommodates avg of 800 students. we have hot water facility in hostels and badminton court and basketball court etc and canteen for every hostel. famous hangout places are heritage building and jasper park and ruby park
