If I get the JRF, I plan to pursue an M Phil in Clinical Psychology and become a licensed clinical practitioner in the mental health field.

The advantage of this course is that you can complete the course over a period of 5 years and examinations are taken twice each year. Lately, there have been some issues regarding RCs and teachers in IGNOU. Going forward they need to address these issues.

However, if possible try to do a regular course in counseling, clinical or industrial psychology. All about Distance study in Ignou

Few online classes. Totally based on self study.
No enough practical classes. Should have more practical classes.

Fees and Financial Aid:

As we know Ignou is a renowned Board for distance study but i want to make it clear that it is totally based on self study as you will get only 2 or 3 online classes(though only in 1st year).and if you have practical paper then you will get 3-4 practical classes each year which is clearly not enough. so basically you need to study on your own like making notes, experiments, projects etc etc and some candidates has misconceptions regarding exam papers that its very easy to clear i want to make it clear that its not that easy. You need to study hard to clear papers and you only get 4 years to complete your degree. otherwise you need take readmission placement assistance.

IGNOU is very affordable as no physical classes or commuting is required

? 19,200 for entire program and ?9600 year wise. Non refundable registration fee of ? 300 during the admission. fee reimbursement is available for SC and ST categories and further they have to pay non-refundable charges of ?300 for form and ?200 for development charges. igloo also provide scholarships based on merits, financial need and sporting achievement.

For doing masters I have to pay total 19 thousand rupees as a fee structure for 2 Year in the 1 year while enrollment I have to pay 10000 rupees as a course fee and plus 100 rupees for the book that I am going to get and the rest of the fee i will pay next year.

It was a government institute, can't say on fees structure and scholarships. For availing degree, I will say everyone can easily afford the tuition fees and as far as I can know is that this institute doesn't provide with the scholarships.

IGNOU MA in Psychology - A comprehensive review.

Open distance aspect - As a working professional, I don't have to spend time attending lectures. I can pace the program according to my own time and bandwidth. I can choose what and how many subjects to appear for in a semester.
Low fees - It does not burn a hole in my pocket.

Evaluations - Assignments and exam papers are not evaluated well. There are ways to escalate such matters, but are often very slow and there is no guarantee of receiving your due grades.
Curriculum needs to be updated to reflect latest research. For e.g. DSM 4 is still being referred to by IGNOU textbooks, at a time when DSM 5 has been the current reckoner for sometime now.

Tuition fee is very affordable. Approximately Rs. 10000 per year. This is a major plus point of being a student at IGNOU. By keeping the fee low, its education is accessible to students from all walks of life.
