IGNOU Faculties : Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 1687 Reviews

The faculty at the college is generally considered experienced and qualified, with many holding advanced degrees like PhDs. The faculty-to-student ratio varies, with some reports suggesting a ratio of 60:1, which can limit individual attention. However, the faculty is often described as approachable and supportive, especially during scheduled sessions, though some students report inconsistent communication and availability. Classes are typically held on weekends, aligning with the university's distance learning model, which limits regular interaction.

There is a strong emphasis on self-study, with resources such as YouTube channels and Gyan Darshan TV broadcasts supplementing learning. Exams are held annually, with a mix of theory and practical assessments, and assignments contribute a significant portion to final grades. The marking scheme typically requires a minimum of 40% to pass, with some students finding the exams moderately challenging. Overall, the faculty is praised for being professional, knowledgeable, and supportive, though improvements in communication and resource availability are suggested.

it has I mean good exam system every year it takes exam and highly qualified. Teachers are also there to take exam. It has good marking system. Every subject contains hundred marks through which you have to obtain. At least 40 marks to pass and checking is very good as well. No cheating at all and you have to rewrite at least 20 pages to pass the exam. So yes I love this system and the students are also very good. They are on time. They are punctual. Exams are also very good. Not very much hard. Not very much easy

My overall experience at the college has been balanced with the noticeable strength as well as areas needing improvement in the faculty of student ratios around the 1:20–1:30 WHICH HELP MAINTAIN A COMFORTABLE LEARNING MOMENT MOST FACULTY MEMBER ARE APPROACHABLE AND ACADEMIC IS STRONG AND SUPPORTIVE DURING DOUBTS PROJECT AND CAREER GUIDANCE. I PERSONALLY APPRECIATE TEACHER LIKE THE DOCTOR MIRA SHARMA, FOR HER PRACTICAL TEACHING STYLE IN NUMERICAL SUBJECT, AND MR. RITU VERMA FOR HELPING THE STUDENT APPROVE THE COMMUNICATION AND INTERVIEW SKILLS HOWEVER, A FEW FACULTY MEMBER HAS FAST FACED TEACHING METHODS OR OUT LECTURE MATERIALS WITH SOMETIME REDUCE STUDENT ENGAGEMENT. THE COURSE STRUCTURE IS WELL DESIGNED COMBINED CORE SUBJECT, while the most of the curriculum industry is relevant, if your radical subject could benefit from update, the exam system include internal midterm final exam and assignments exam are more difficult through some time, technical subject. Write for making the journal fair but varies from the teacher to teacher campus life is active and interactive offering good social exposure the girls to boys ratio roughly 40 ratio 60 creating a balance environment, placement and decent satisfaction, guidance internship, and job preparation the placement support and still be improved

I THINK I CAN'T TELL ABOUT THE FACULTY RATION BECAUSE I HAVE NOT SEEN MUCH THE STUDENT AND THE TEACHERS APART FROM IF I WOULD THALK ABOUT NATURE SO I HAVE ONCE MEET A PROFESSOR AND HE WAS LETRALLY VERY POLITE AND SWEET WITH ME AND APART FROM HIM I DONT KNOW ABOUT OTHERS BEACUSE I HAVE NEVER SEEN OR MEET THEM BECAUSE CLLEGE HAVE NEVER ARRANGED CLASSES FOR US. IN A YEAR THERE IS TWO SEMESTER AND WE ONLY NEED TO GIVE EXMAS IN YEAR END SEMESTER FOR BOTH SEMESTERS TOGETHER. IF WE ARE STUDYING ON DAILY BASIS THEN ITS QUIT EASY TO GIVE EXAMS BECAUSE THE DIFFICULTY RATION OF EXMAS ARE NOT THAT DIFFICULT. ALTHOUGH I HAVE NEVER FAILDE IN EXMAS BUT I HAVE HEARD THAT MANY STUDENTS FAIL EXAMS.

IGNOU is good for students who want flexibility because you can study from home and the fees are affordable. The study material is also good and the degree is recognised everywhere for jobs and further studies. But the downside is that IGNOU’s administrative work can be slow, like getting study material, updating assignments, or releasing results. Also, since it’s a distance-learning university, you don’t get regular campus life or much interaction with teachers. Overall, it’s helpful if you want flexible and low-cost education, but not ideal if you want a full college experience.

IGNOU: 3 Answered Questions

How good is IGNOU for MA courses?

Satyam Purwar
Pranjal TiwariStudied at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

It is guaranteed that the study material provided by IGNOU is excellent. You'll have a great time going through them. It will undoubtedly provide you with a thorough understanding of the subject. However, it is not without difficulty. You get to work hard. If you want to study Economics via distance education, IGNOU is your best bet.

However, pursuing it at a regular university in a face-to-face mode may be preferable because teachers can assist you with your difficulties. However, if you are already employed, MA in Economics from IGNOU is an excellent choice.

How is BBA from IGNOU?

Rishabh MalhotraAssistant manager-Inside Sales at Koenig Solutions (company)

Everything in life has advantages and disadvantages. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of BBA from IGNOU:

Pros:

  • IGNOU offers a BBA with a Specialization in Retailing (rather than a general BBA), which broadens your opportunities in the retail sector beyond sales and marketing.

  • Every year, you receive a certificate. As a result, you can begin working immediately after finishing your 12th grade and continue to advance each year. You don't have to wait three years for a degree before you can get a job. You can study while working.

  • Every year, you are given a project that allows you to gain real-world experience in the retail industry and complete it in retail organisations.

  • Retail Associations of India is collaborating with IGNOU-BBA. You will receive the best curriculum for it.

  • The course is written in simple language that is easy to understand, and it includes the best knowledge in the retail specialisation.

  • The cost of this course is the lowest of any university that offers distance education for BBA.

Cons:

  • There is no Math or Statistics subject in the entire BBA course from IGNOU, so it is entirely theoretical.

  • Unfortunately, some prestigious MBA programmes look for a Math subject in the course of graduation when accepting applications. However, there will be many colleges that will accept your degree.

  • Similarly, some government jobs require a Math subject as part of your bachelor's degree programme. However, there will be plenty of opportunities for you in the government. as well as the private sector for employment You can still apply for exams such as Bank PO, SSC, and UPSC.

  • The same exposure found in regular BBA will never be found in distance BBA. The reason for this is that you will not learn how to give presentations in front of an audience, which is essential if you are studying BBA.

This course is not offered in every city. So, before enrolling in IGNOU's BBA programme, you should contact the IGNOU regional centre in your city. Because this course is taken by a small number of students, it is only available in a few cities. However, when comparing distance universities for the course of BBA, it is recommended that IGNOU is the best because of its lower cost, reputation, and educational standard.
