Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced an extension of the registration deadline for the January sessions of the academic year 2026. Candidates can enroll in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes till February 15, 2026, through the official website, ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in
As per the official website, candidates must keep their APAAR ID ready before starting the application process. The registration process is for those who want to enrol in IGNOU courses for various programs, including PGDGM (PG Diploma in Geriatric Medicine), PGDMCH (PG Diploma in Maternal and Child Health), PGCMDM (PG Certificate in Medical Management of CBRNE Disasters), CESEIHI (Certificate in Early Childhood Special Education Enabling Inclusion - Hearing Impairment), CESEIVI (Certificate in Early Childhood Special Education Enabling Inclusion - Visual Impairment), and CESEIID (Certificate in Early Childhood Special Education Enabling Inclusion - Intellectual Disability).
This decision has been taken to provide relief to thousands of learners across the country and to ensure that eligible students have sufficient time to complete the mandatory process for the upcoming academic cycle.
How to Apply for IGNOU Registration?
- Candidates must visit the official website of ignou.ac.in and click on the Register Online bar to log in using their enrollment number.
- Select the desired programme and carefully read the details of the programme, including eligibility criteria, fee details, duration, etc.
- Click on NEW REGISTRATION in the applicant login area and fill in the required details along with the application fee.
- Lastly, click on the submit button. Username and Password will be sent to the candidates via email and SMS.
Documents Required For IGNOU Registration
- Scanned photograph
- Scanned signature
- Relevant educational qualification
- Experience certificate (if any)
- Category certificate
As per the official website, candidates must note that the application fee is non-refundable. The amount equivalent to 15% of the programme fee, subject to a ceiling of INR 2,000, will be deducted from the fee paid in case the request for cancellation is received after the confirmation of admission.
