Admissions for every program at each campus are strictly merit-based, and because of this selection process, it is not possible for a student to transfer from one campus to another.

SASTRA Deemed University has announced the admission schedule for the academic year 2026-27. Prospective students can begin their online applications starting from March 27, 2026. The university continues its tradition of merit-based admissions across its various campuses in Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, and Chennai. The application fee is ₹650.

The university offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs:
- Engineering: B.Tech. (various branches) and 5-Year Integrated M.Tech.
- Law: 5-Year Integrated LL.B. (Hons.), B.A. LL.B., B.Com. LL.B., and B.B.A. LL.B.
- Science & Humanities: B.Sc., B.Com., B.B.A., B.C.A., B.A., and M.Sc. (Biotechnology, Chemistry, Data Sciences, Physics, etc.).
- Management & Computer Applications: MBA and MCA.
- Education: B.Sc. B.Ed. and B.Com. B.Ed.
- Research: Full-time and Part-time Ph.D. programs.

SASTRA University Admission 2026 Eligibility Criteria
- B.Tech / Integrated M.Tech: A pass in 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects (along with Chemistry/Bio-Tech/CS/Biology) with a minimum aggregate of 60%. The candidate’s age should be below 19 years as of August 1, 2026.
- Law Programs: A pass in 10+2 with a minimum of 50% aggregate and English as a subject. Age limit is below 19 years as of August 1, 2026.
- PG Programs (MBA/MCA/M.Tech): A relevant Bachelor’s degree with minimum qualifying marks (usually 50-60%) from a recognized university.
- Other UG Courses: A pass in 10+2 from a recognized board.
SASTRA University Admission 2026 Selection Process
- B.Tech / Integrated M.Tech: Stream 1 (70% seats): Based on JEE Main 2026 scores (50%) and 10th +12th Board marks (50%).
- Stream 2 (30% seats): Based solely on 10th+12th Board marks.
- Law Programs: Based on CLAT 2026 scores and 10th +12th Board marks.
- MBA: Preference is given to candidates with valid CAT / XAT / MAT / CMAT scores.
- Other Courses: Admissions are strictly based on merit (marks in the qualifying examination).
