Here the faculty is very nice they are ready help when students need there help
Here placements is so good and many top companies are approaching to the college students here having good opportunity for the placements average placements is about 13lakhs per annual combining all branches
Many scholarships like fcc, nsp and others are student welfare related and do help the students alot.

Dislikes

Scholarship are there for weak section of society.. my fees is somewhat between 140000 to 150000 years as i didn't receive any scholarship or anything.
The hostel facility is not that great, there is a food problem in terms of taste and water problem in terms of hygiene, there are some issues with the internet also.
The attendance criteria is really strict and the behaviour of the professors are not good

MY NITS

Likes

Beautiful atmosphere, encouragement in sports,large number of clubs
Improvement of food in hostels for food,hot water

Dislikes

I did not like the food ,weather ,water and health facilities

Placement Experience:

From 7 th semister onwards the student will be eligible for the placements percentage of students placed is about 80 I like to go to another countries for mtech to get better opportunities so that I can earn more salary

Likes

The campus is very green and very less polluted compare to other colleges.
Placement here for ECE branch is very good.
Seniors are very helpful. They provide information in every aspect possible

Dislikes

Quality of mess food is not par with the standards
There is no main gate in college so it feels weird sometimes

Placement Experience:

Placements opportunity is quite good here at NIT SILCHAR. On campus placement starts just after 3rd year. You can get internship after 2nd year itself. All major companies visit here like google,microsoft, jp morgan etc. Total around 700 offers were made last year.

It's a good campus you will regret it first but enjoy layer

Likes

Nature in the collage and size of the collage
Faculty is good and friendly the really interact a lot
Many cultures and customs in the collage are good

Dislikes

Since it is a old collage we cannot get good infra
Even the collage is big but everything is filled with lakes
Library is not open all the time in the collage

NIT Silchar Review

Likes

Campus is lush and green, rich in biodiversity. You can support different varieties of flora and fauna in the campus. Can also spot jackals at night
The placements are really good because it's an Institute of national importance
The seniors are really friendly. It's a ragging free campus

Dislikes

The library is only open till 5 PM and closed on weekends.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is really good pairing you to face the industrial world outside. I'm still a first year student so can't really talk much about it but yeah the college provides really promising placements and the teaching methods are really relevant so far.

Big Campus area: Our college has pretty big campus area around 625 acres. Lot of places to roam
Lush green campus: Our college has lot of trees and greenery + its location make it pollution free AQI here is 9
Beautiful and large library: largest digital library in Asia

Dislikes

Academic Pressure: Course is pretty competitive and stressful
Cultural Adjustment: Students from different parts of India may face Cultural adjustments
Location: Our college is located in a relatively remote area of Assam

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placements after 3rd year means 6th semester. Companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, JCB, SONY ETC companies comes here for campus placement like this year Microsoft gave 40 lpa package in nour college As of 2023 highest package was 80lpa from CSE and average salary was 14.39 lpa Total percentage of students placed was 89.41% I would like to do my own business after my college degree and make my own company

Amazing life in nit Silchar

Campus environment is too eco friendly.this campus is ranked 158 in most eco friendly college in world and in India it is rank 3.
Faculty are perfect. There are 7 staff who are regarded as top 0.01% professors in the world
Clubs and societies. There are many societies to make students interact and engage them with all kind of knowledge

Dislikes

Hostel mess it is very bad initially for those students who came from other state
Infrastructure. It is average in hostels as the campus is little old one
Location. The location of campus is little bit difficult for students to come from long distances through train . But flight is ok but airport is around 20 km away

5 or 6 semester onwards students are eligible for internships in off campus . They can opt for PPO. There are severe companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Flipkart, and some top MNCs . overall campus is perfect to spend 4 years

DETAILED REVIEW OF NIT SILCHAR

Likes

Good atmosphere as it is nearly 10 kms away from the main Silchar City.
Tonnes of events and occassions to constantly keep you entertained throughout your journey of 4 years.
Beautiful, neat and clean campus and also housing the phenomenal 2nd largest Digital Library in Asia.

Dislikes

Classes aren't scheduled properly and becomes hectic for the non-hostelers.
Labs aren't maintained well and so is the case with other colleges as well so you need not to worry.
Marking scheme is a bit confusing as because professors let their scholars check the exam paper and they themselves don't know many things.

Placement Experience:

The placements are superb in one word. You can seat in placements from the start of 4th year until exam result declaration day. Lot of top companies visit NIT Silchar like, Google, Adani, TATA, and many other big IT giant multinational companies. Around 80-90% student get placements in NIT across all branches. The highest package offered was to the ECE and CSE branch which was 63 LPA and average across all the branch is around 18-20 lacs a year.

"Comprehensive review of NIT Silchar : Academics, Faculty ,Campus, Seniors, Hostels, Internship, Placements" etc..

Likes

Huge campus of 625 acres full of greenary(AQI is very good)
Hundreds of events organised every semester to improve our overall skills and personality
Seniors are very friendly and cooperative

Dislikes

Hostels are dirty and unhygenic, sometimes snakes come inside hostel
Double or Triple room is provided which is insufficient
Mess Lunch and snacks are not up to the mark

Placement Experience:

~From the 7th sem/ 4th yr students become eligible for campus placements ~Google,Amazon,Microsoft,goldman sachs,infosys .. 200+companies ~highest package was of 44LPA and average was of 13.58LPA ~ 77.5% ~ Still i am not planning to do M.Tech so i will directly join a company

The college life in NIT SILCHAR

Likes

The infrastructure is good and out college is decorated by nature with its beauty.
The faculty are friendly, guiding students in a good path .
There will be many clubs respective to their department. Involving in this clubs and groups increases the social interactions

Dislikes

The food will be totally bengali and assame style . Since I'm a south indian it becomes difficult for me with food .
The weather conditions will be extreme . It will be very humid in summer and rainy season. We usually carry umbrella as our body part.
The unacademic complaints have been taken into consideration very slowly with negligence

Placement Experience:

The placements in our college are very good. From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements . The unplaced students can go further studies like MS ,MTECH . The companies visited our college are atlassian ,Amazon,AWS ,optum, Myntra ,UBS ,Amadeus ,oracle ,sap labs ,mathworks ,Hpcl ,Bpcl,HUL, Goldman Sachs and many startups . The highest package offered by AWS 52 LPA.The average package is 10,00,000 to 12,00,000 for cse and it varies for different branches

NIT Silchar is a prestigious engineering college that imparts quality education in various fields. However, the PG courses aren't very well-known and only the UG courses have gained fame over time. It is therefore advisable to check the profiles of the teachers in the respective department.

Additionally, NIT Silchar is located in a remote location and you might find it difficult to procure your equipment for projects. MTech depends on the quality of the research and project you have completed and if you fail to accomplish it your MTech degree is invaluable.

Most companies visiting NIT Silchar prefer BTech students to MTech students. So getting a good job let alone a core job is very difficult here. The institute has no international ties so your future prospects may narrow down further.

Consider all the above factors before making your final decision!
