"Comprehensive review of NIT Silchar : Academics, Faculty ,Campus, Seniors, Hostels, Internship, Placements" etc..

~ The curriculum taught by our profs are outdated except few topics ~ Besides this there are labs which conducts practical which matches with new education topics as these are taught by our seniors(M.Tech students)

There are many companies which offers internships which starts from the 5th sem or 3 rd yr onwards which makes us ready for the final placement round. Some companies directly gives placement offer during the internship period if they like you efficiency and personality.

~From the 7th sem/ 4th yr students become eligible for campus placements ~Google,Amazon,Microsoft,goldman sachs,infosys .. 200+companies ~highest package was of 44LPA and average was of 13.58LPA ~ 77.5% ~ Still i am not planning to do M.Tech so i will directly join a company

Annual - Incandescence Technical - Tecnoesis Tons of books are available in the library as it is the largest digital library in whole Asia Sports and extracurricular activities like - cricket,football, badminton,TT etc are played in the campus starting from 2 nd yr seniors run diff types of clubs to improve our technical and communication skills

~ There LAN ports are provided with decent internet speed ~ Breakfast and Dinner is too good but lunch and snacks are not up to the mark ~ Registration process takes a time of about 3-4 hours and Hostel is too much affordable ~The locality is very good and the people here are very kind heated( specially bengali and assamese)

~ My Dream college is IITKGP(still) ~ After JEE mains 1 st attempt I got 94.18 %ile , I want to improve it in my second attempt but couldn't due to CBSE Boards i gave 1 month to boards which was my biggest mistake and scored 90.2% easily,which ruined my second attempt. ~ Due to lots of subjective ques practice during boards i lost my fast numerical solving skills . ~ I gave WBJEE too and somehow scored 63.58 which landed me on a rank(GMR) of 4254 and a SC rank of 249 among 142k students. ~ I expected a rank under 1k or alteast 2k . Before JEE Adv I moved to my hometown,Cob,WB from ALLEN Kota .Due to this I lost that serious study environment of Kota and became less interested in my final jee days. ~ Somehow i scored enough(around 60) to get category qualified but couldn't clear the general cutoff(due to this my heart was broken into infinty pieces) ~ I wanted to take drop but due to parental pressure i was not allowed to do so and i applied for JOSAA councelling as well as WBJEE councelling. ~ After my councelling results were out i got NIT Silchar through JOSAA and got Jadavpur University through WBJEE Councelling. ~ JU was way higher than NIT Silchar but i choosed NIT Silchar over JU because of the outdated, old campus and Harsh ragging culture of JU. ~ I have no regret over my councelling decision but i still dream of IITKGP. ~ If i get a chance to visit IITKGP from NIT Silchar I am definately not gonna miss that out! THAT WAS MY JEE STORY I HOPE YOU WERE ABLE TO FEEL THOSE LINES ! ~SWANANDO

~ The faculty to student ratio is 1:80 ~ The student to facukty relationship is good for most of the profs ~ I personally liked our chemistry faculty as teaches in a humerous way using today's generation examples . ~ I didn't like our maths prof as he is very strict . He is very knowledgable but doesn't have the art of teaching ~ There are generally two exams mid- sems and end-sems which are of moderate to tough level.

~ There is a small gym, decent cafeteris and large library available inside the campus ~ Hostel in timing are around 9 p.m ~ There are lakes inside the campus which makes us refreshing and outside there are tea gardens and halflong hill station to visit
