It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

THE COLLEGE OF NATIONAL IMPORTANCE - NIT ROURKELA

Likes

Absolute beauty campus, buildings, hostels
Good faculties and understanding seniors
Good services in all fields be it sports,necessities,fests,etc.

Dislikes

Food (not so bad, but in general rourkela food doesnt suit my taste), also mess fees and quality doesnt match
Absolute grading system, is very rigorous

Placement Experience:

From pre final year of every course, students are eligible for on campus internships and from final year, we are eligible for campus placements The overall average placement of nit rourkela in 2023-24 was 1340000 And, life science hasnt seen much of placement since most go for higher research opportunities or they get placed in coaching institutes for min 3 lpa and max. 6 to 7 lpa Overally college had 90%+ placement but life science had only 3 offers last year which obviously is teacher at big neet coaching institute such as aakash,narayana,etc.

I like the college very much the campus life is so good and academic is very good

Dislikes

Classroom should be improvised and lab facilities should also improvised

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is quite good as we can see that in each semester there are two examination that is made up of mid semester consists of 30 marks and end semester consist of 50 marks. 20 marksheet teacher assessment so we can say that total hundred mark we have to give exam and for that we got the result20 marksheet teacher assessment so we can say that total hundred mark we have to give exam and for that we got the result

About Nit Rourkela

Likes

NIT Rourkela is one of the top nits in India .It has a big campus of 1200 acres to roam around .it is an autonomous college with more benefits also .it has the most number of departments compared to any nit .
You will get a tag of top nit which will be beneficial for future . placement opportunities are pretty well . During placement drive thare are also facilities such as guest houses where people can stay also for any parent visiting to their student .
Clubs are very much active in nit rkl .you get to know about many things here .clubs will help you lot in your journey

Dislikes

Although it is one of the top nits .it's administration is not so good
85% attendance rules sucks , also no semester exms gap are there . literally sem week hurts so much
1200 acre campus is good but when we go to daily by cycle we get tired .cycle is mandatory here

Placement Experience:

From pre final years placement starts at the end you will get placed surely if you are skilled enough . Offers are 900+ and some students have also 2 offers in a hand Google Microsoft Adobe also visit our campus 95% students are placed with 10+ lpa I'm planning to get placed in a good company

Mathematics at NIT-Rourkela

Likes

The campus is really vibrant with lot of activities to do as per one's choice and interest.
The course fee is relatively low as compared to others.
The placement opportunities can be good.

Dislikes

The course structure is not that great as it includes useless chemistry and physics courses till the end of 3rd year.
Professors can sometimes be a bit too pain in the ***.

Placement is decent for the course. One can get software, analytics or teaching job. The placement, sure has, taken a hit from the on going recession in the IT industry. For the 2022-23 placement session, the average salary offered was around 10lpa with the placement percentage being 92%.

Campus - awesome campus to have in your college life!
Safe: most safest NIT. Specially for girls
Anti ragging committee ISDC is there. So no issues of that.

Dislikes

Over power grant to the professors who can do whatever they want
Attendance is 85% which leads to lack of skill development
Hostel rooms as they are quite old and not enough space

good fest , events , clubs, and other extra curricular facilities
pure veg mess , for veg only students , without onion garlic
good senior junior interaction with no ragging

high attendance requirements , more burden by profs
not good sports training facilities to learn
the behaviour of professors towards weak students

from 7th semester one will be eligible for placements about 70 percemt of students aree getting placed while majority opt to go for higher studies average package vary as per the department , in mathematics department highest package is 27 lpa whereas lowest is 7lpa i would like to persue hugher education after completion of degree

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent , many students get place in various companies . You have to maintain a good CGPA throughout your semesters to get a seat in placement . Rest all depends on your hardwork , passion and skills.

NIT-A Great Campus Life

Likes

There are a great arrangement of fests and students enjoy very much in the fests .
Library is very good . Almost every book is available in the library.
The teaching style of the facilities are very good and they teach in a very good method to make understand the students.

Dislikes

Honestly i did not like the boy to girl ratio and it is about 3 is to 1 .
The first semester is too short for me . It is about of 4 months .
The speed of internet is little bit slow in the hostel rooms . And the provided eternet facility is also a little bit slow .

Placement Experience:

From the 6th semester students become eligible for the campus placements. Companies visited are amazon , Flipkart, google , Microsoft and many different big comapnies . Highest package is 1 cr per annum and a average package of 13.5 lakhs ler annum . Approx 95.8 percentage of students got placement every year . After the degree i am planning to get into a very good and reputed company .

True colours of Nit Rourkela

Likes

Campus which is around 1200 acres and beautiful campus
College life - enjoy the friends in holidays playing cricket and enjoy
Fest - we have four fest which we can enjoy a lot

Dislikes

Studies - somewhat high studies which is difficult to manage
Politics - State political which may be more.
Foods - mess food is not good in hostels

For the first three year we will have basic of chemistry and next two year we will have MSC level . We course will consist of organic inorganic and physical chemistry . It will have material science subject also

NIT-A Life of dreams

Likes

I mostly liked the campus life very much .
Faculties and teacher assistant are very good and their teaching are very good .
Placements are high and average package is also very good here about 14 lakhs .

Dislikes

I disliked most about the time of entry to the campus.
I also disliked about the class timing and it is from morning 8'o clock
I also disliked the system of examination time that is between 2 months .

Placement Experience:

From the 6th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Companies visited are Microsoft, Google , TCS , Infosis , Amazon , Accenture. Students got highest package of 1 CR per year . Average package is 14 lakhs per annum . Mostly highest packages is from the companies from Microsoft and Google . At an average 95.7 percentage of students get placements from here. After getting the degree I think I will prepare for UPSE .

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
