Likes

I love the college infrastructrure and ambience. It is quite big and spacious as compared to other du. The classrooms are big and they have a lot of facilities
The teachers are very strict when it comes to studies, they provide notes and teach the students very well, they even offer extra classes if someone does not understand something.
Jmc is somewhat away from all the Du politics and drama that happens, for instance we do not participate in Du elections and campaigning. And beacause jmc is located in a very posh area, there is not much chaos happening and rather peaceful.

Dislikes

The people are very competitive you can look at it as good thing or a bad thing, people are always trying to be better than each other but it is not a toxic comepetition rather friendly.
The college does not have ac which is a big hassle especially during Delhi heat.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is good but very advanced i feel like especially cause i did not have psychology in 12th and so on. The teaching is abit advanced but if you can catch up than its good otherwise kt will be hard for you to keep up with the teaching and so on.

Fees and Financial Aid

The one year fees for my college is around 21375/- for my course. Aside from that, we pay exam fees which depends on the number of practical and theory papers. For 1&2 semester (each) i paid Min fees for sem - 400 additional fees for 3 courses - 300 fees for 5 practical - 1000 statement fees - 100 examination fees - 10 total - 1810 the admission fees and exam fees differs according to if you are an only girl child or you have special quotas or such. But there is not so much difference probably a few hundreds.

Campus Life

The clubs are amazing. they are very active and there is something for everyone. The clubs join a lot of comepetion and they win alot too. Jmc's clubs are very popular and are vey well known. they are all amazing and the core teams are amazing too

Admission

Jmc was my 2nd preference in my prefrence list for cuet after lsr but honestly, i am happy i got into jmc instead of jmc cause i feel like the faculty is much better in jmc as comapared to lsr. i like the people better and the teaching and faculty is better and more comfortable and understanding.

Faculty

There are about 80 students in each class. Thats about 240 in one department. There are almost 9 faculties that teach through a semester. There are different teachers for theory and practical classes. The faculties are very friendly and very approachable. You can see the teachers and students are like bestfriends they share personal things and all. They are very understanding, and very good listener. The exams are sometimes easy, somethimes difficult. Sometimes the external teachers that come for viva might ask something totally out of topic. That might eat your head at times but yea.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Approach towards course structure is appreciable. Being a social science doesn't only means history and stuff but rather an inter- disciplinary approach towards all subject and this is what this course teaches us. For the real world preparation, we are taught with real world examples and given field level assignments. Adding more of real life ventures can be really beneficial. Exams timing are same as others, at the end of semester.

LSR - sociology Honours review

Placement Experience:

Campus Placements are competitive and hard to get. Usually multiple offers are limited to few disciplines such as Commerce or economics. While many arts students usually dont sit for placements in that high a number. Highest packages have gone upto around 45LPA, while average package remains somewhere around 12-14 LPA While companies such as BCG,. mckinsey etc do visit campus and as I said- they are more economics and commerce oriented but other discipline students also get placed- just not in these high numbers. Usually around 8-9 GPA is a good score for placemets. The employability is good in the market as the college does have strong Alumni Network and also is a recognised and reputed name in the job market.

Drc and its internship placement

Placement Experience:

Our placement cell provides us every detail about available internships. It also helps us to get every update about upcoming internships. Its my third year but ive seen people from commerce department getting pretty good internships at companies like hdfc, delloite that too with a nice amount of stipend near 8000-1000. JMC life my way

i actually did not apply to any other college , the reason being that I am pursuing ca and needed a govt college to balance my attendance along with it , govt colleges do not put a lot of burden as to attendance. so I applied to du and then created my preference list and got JMC according to it and tbh I do not at all regret coming to JMC. the admission experience was really nice , I was happy to get into DU and that too such a nice college , I think that JMC gets less recognition than it should get. admission process is through giving cuet exam, filling in the preference list and the according to the cutoff we get admission...Read More

JMC is a beauty!!

Girls college was definitely the priority and only two colleges for which I wanted to go. First was LSR and then JMC. The cut-off for LSR was 763 and for KMC it was 745.
