Dislikes
- The Canteen in the college premises wasn't very up to the mark.
Course Curriculum Overview
As an English Hons student, I had rate the course curriculum as fairly relevant. I chose this course because of my inclination towards Literature, critical analysis and the curiosity to study different genres like American literature or Post Colonial literature. The Curriculum does prepare you for the real world by enhancing one's critical level thinking and knowing what's right and what's wrong because of vast exposure, thereby strengthening decison making power too. I feel when we look at the current scenario and growth of AI, the curriculum can incorporate AI mixed Literature or something of that sorts.
Internships Opportunities
The college had a regulated placement/internship cell. The cell curated specific whatsapp groups for the same where they sent internship updates and the studnets coulp apply. The stipend offered was around 10K and most of them were digital marketing agencies for the position of a content writer, social media stratergist etc. for my course.
Placement Experience
There's a placement cell and placement drives do happen in college but genuinely the package offered is not really considerable. After the 4th semester students are considered to sit in the placement drives though I would say it is not very efficient and fruitful.
Fees and Financial Aid
When I was in college in 2021, the fee was Rs. 18800 per year and it hasn't increased so far. I found the fee to be quite reasonable.. I feel the course is fairly priced for what they offer. Other fee like exam fee was there too. The exam fee was Rs. 1200 per semester.
Campus Life
My overall college experience has been quite fun and lively. The prime location of my college did add to the whole college vibe with amazing hangout zones to go to. The college fest, TATVA was definitely a delight. There are various college societies too and they definitely helps one develop new skills and encapsulate new experiences outside academics, they do prepare you to socialise with the real world.
Admission
I chose this college because of it's prime location and conveneice in commuting here. It falls under the South Delhi Campus so it makes it more classic. The admission process was quite smooth and regulated by the management via there portal. During my time, the admission was done based on the 12th class CBSE board percentage where in the university realeased 4 cut off lists and I was lucky enough to get this college in the first cut off list only.
Faculty
From my experience, the faculty to student ration was around 1:30-35 per subject, which felt quite balanced. The teachers were approachable. Whatsapp groups were formulated by the teachers for our conveneinece and to update us about any information regarding classes, subject etc. I had around 6-7 papers per semester and the level of difficulty was moderate enough. Students with consistent efforts and regular class attendace did manage to pass the exams.
Night Life
The night life around my college in fun and lively. There are safe PG/Flat option nearby. The college doesn't provide official hostel though. The location is prime and there are amazing hangout zones Some of the cafes and libraries nearby run 24/7.
