Remarks

Best quality education in such low tution fees and also good campussing,moreover it stands 6th best in bengal and 2nd best in wbjee after jadavpur. Moreover its a gòvt college with its own benefits.good environment to study

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is bit outdated but with new revise curriculum new technologies are being included in curriculum.still a lot of stuffs needed to be included so as to hone the skills of the students to meet the modern industry needs

We have many companies coming to our college.many mncs like tcs cts capegemini.we also had oracle and Ericsson in our college.now with more talented student pool 70% of our students gets placed.still our cllg needs to work hard on placement of me and ee students

The infrastructure of this college is good.woth a new building fr academics things have improved even more but if some lab equipments gets broken then it takes time to be replaced because of the govt formalities

Placement Experience:

The college has a very professional Training and Placement committee. Companies like TCS, Capgemini, Accenture, Wipro visit the college for placement. My department (ECE) has an average of 7LPA. Last year the highest pakage was 85 LPA which was secured by one of our esteemed seniors in JP Morgan Chase. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon also visit our college for placements. The only disadvantage is maximum of these companies are visiting for mass recruit profiles. I plan to go for an MS in USA after securing my degree.

The college lowdown

Placement Experience:

From 6th and 7th Semester students get eligible for campus placements. The companies that visit are TCS,. Cognizant, Dell, intel, Amazon, Microsoft, McAfee, Hp etc 70% plus gets placed every year. Students must maintain a cgpa above 7 to be eligible for campus placements. After getting a degree I want to develop my career as a software engineer and product manager.

Survival Guide of NIT Durgapur

Placement Experience:

Placements at NIT Durgapur are phenomenal. Students are eligible for placements from 6th semester onwards. Some of the visiting companies include Microsoft, Apple, and JPMC. They offer attractive packages to students, with the highest placement being 50 LPA. The average placement for all the students is around 11LPA. For branches like CSE, ECE and EEE, the average is consistently above 16-17 LPA. The placement percentage is around 80% for CSE students. My plans after getting the degree will be to work in the industry for 1-2 years and then proceed to higher studies abroad.

There have been quite a few companies that have visited the campus like Nutanix, Accenture, Deloitte, EY GDS, IBM, etc. Variable packages ranging from 4-11lpa have been offered. I had an offer from JU for Food and Biochemical department. However the relevancy and future prospects of Electronics and Communication engineering makes it one of the best course to study. Being the second best in West Bengal State govt. run Universities it is one of the best choices I have made. I would have made it to Jadavpur University Power Engineering dept. if there was not a rank inflation phenomena this year, but later on I realised i am at a better position here.
