- The infrastructure is good and the place is well maintained
- Faculty are knowledgeable but sometimes language is the issue
- Students and friendly here, there is almost no senior junior problems

- Course curriculum is mostly theoretical and less practical knowledge
- All the classes of every department are in the same building
- Workshops are not so well equipped and thus no practical knowledge
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good for all the theories and knowledge needed to study the Mechanical Engineering subjects but there os lack of practical knowledge in the department as the workshops are not that well equipped
Placement Experience
Placements in the core departments are very bad, if you want to get placed CS or IT or management roles are the most roles that the placement companies look for and the average offer that is given is 3lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
The first semester fees is ?7950. Admission fees ?50, Caution ?1000, Tuition fees ?5000, The Examination fees ?500, Infrastructure maintenance ?200, student activisties ?150 and Health insurance of ?260 covering upto ?50000 insurance. So total of ?7960 is first semester fees In second semester onwards only Tuition fees, examination fees, infrastructure maintenance and health insurance so a total of ?6960 are the remaining semester fees.
Campus Life
The overall campus environment is good, clean and well maintained. There are no fests but inter department sports tournaments happen every year. Freshers and Farewell Party are conducted by students of respective departments
Hostel Facilities
Hostel for B.Tech are triple sharing basis and are well furnished with table, chair, separate cupboard and proper ventilation, well maintained washrooms and food in mess which charge per meal basis is of decent quality
Admission
I got a seat in this university through WBJEE and counseling rounds. The university also conducts AUAT Aliah University Admission Test for admission to courses through their own examination. The other colleges I applied were Techo India, Jadavpur University
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio in mechanical engineering was 1:30-35 of all the 7 batches that I have seen. Some times interdisciplinary subjects are taught so there can be mixing of two different class and ratio in those classes can vary
Night Life
The night life is normal society type.nothing much hostel gates are closed after midnight and there is not much. But students enjoy the night life inside their rooms. There is a canteen in campus which gives food at reasonable rates and are of decent quality
