Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course structure is relevant but not modern. However Computer Science and Engineering opens a lot of options for you as it is a very vast field and that is the reason i chose it. The curriculum is almost same as the other government engineering colleges. However it needs some new additions to be able to cope up with colleges like jadavpur university. The frequency of exams are very low .

Internships Opportunities

3

I am basically 1st year so i do not know much about the internship scenario. But as of my knowledge it is not very good . But some seniors i have seen doing workshops for companies like google .

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible for placements from 3rd year. Mostly tech giants like Wipro, Infosys, TCS are the major recruiters . The percentage of students placed in various branches are as follows: CSE (80%) ECE ( 50%) EE(40%) ME(30%) CE(20%) The average package is 3.8 lpa The highest package is 11 lpa . However there are a few startups that are really doing good.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college Aliah University has a fees structure as follows : Total tution fees (?47,250), Yearly tution fees (?11,812) . The fees structure is almost same every year and does not increase by much .

Campus Life

3

The campus life is very simple. However you can always enjoy if u have a good friends circle. You can easily bunk classes. Also proxies are manageable. There is cultural fests and sports every year. Also the university has a very strong cricket and football team.

Admission

I wrote exams like JEE and VIT entrance paper but failed to manage a good score and hence chose to get into Aliah University since it is a government engineering college which implies i could complete the course with a very low tuition fee. I got into Aliah by writing the AUAT exam which is a 3 hours exam . To get into Aliah University Engineering branches you can either write the WBJEE paper or the AUAT . Your rank must be within 10,000 in WBJEE and within 300 in AUAT. However there is reservation for physically challenged people in AUAT. But there is no reservation based on religion.

Faculty

4

Some teachers are very friendly and suppotive while some teachers do not care at all about the commencement of the classes. But all the teachers are ver much approachable and suppotive. The faculty to student ratio is very low. For me the best faculties are Amitabha sir(Eng mechanis) , Koustav sir (Physics) since they are very supporting and friendly. There are also some rude teachers like Ikbal sir(Electronics) . Only semester exams are conducted and no mid sems are conducted for the first year. The attendance is manageable as everyday some classes get cancelled.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Regarding examination the frequency is generally acceptable but the timing sometimes overlaps with project submission, creating unnecessary pressure. Exam duration is of 3hrs They should focus more on building projects which can be helpful for students Labs are modern and well equipped In terms of teaching methods a shift towards interactive learning, problem based assignments, hackathons and collaborative projects could make the learning experience more impactful. More emphasis on research and innovation at the undergraduate level could also encourage academic pursuits.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was actually inclined to take this course so not really an influence of any aspect. The curriculum is pretty helpful and the additional competitions such as hackathons and codathons are really helpful. the frequency of the exam is consisteny the timing is provided when the academic calendar is out.
