JEE Advanced 2024 Rank List- Tie Breaking Criteria
In case 2 or more candidates have the same marks, IIT Madras will deploy a tie-breaking criteria to assign a unique rank to each candidate. The criteria for resolving a tie in JEE Adv rank (in order of priority) is provided below:
- Candidate with higher positive marks will be placed higher
- If the tie still persists, then the candidate with more marks in Mathematics will be ranked higher
- If the second parameter is also unable to break the tie, the the candidate with more marks in Physics will be placed at a higher rank
- If the tie still exists, then the same rank will be assigned to the candidates.

100 Marks in JEE Advanced Rank
Based on previous year JEE Advanced rank vs marks data, 100 marks in JEE Advanced is around 18000 rank. If you belong to the general category, then getting into the top branches of IITs is not possible with a rank 18000 and above. If you belong to SC or ST category, then you have admission chances to the SC/ ST reserved seats in lower branches in the IITs as your JEE Advanced category rank for 100 marks will be better.
200 Marks in JEE Advanced Rank
200 is considered a good score in JEE Advanced. With 200 marks in JEE Advanced, you can get a rank between 1000-2000. This rank is good to get B.Tech admission to most of the branches in the top IITs. Last year JoSAA closing rank for EE and CE branches for general category was 1833 and 7177 for IIT Kharagpur and 2037 and 7100 for IIT Roorkee. Check branch-wise JoSAA closing ranks for all IITs
180 Marks in JEE Advanced Rank

As per JoSAA closing ranks of 2023, JEE Advanced rank of 2500 is good to get into the top B.Tech branches like civil engineering and mechanical engineering in almost all the IITs. JoSAA Counselling 2024
Admission through JEE Advanced 2024 ranks will be through JoSAA counselling. JoSAA will conduct 6 rounds of counselling to allocate the 17000+ seats in all the 23 participating IITs. The JoSAA counselling process for IIT involves online registration @josaa.nic.in, document verification, choice filling, seat allotment result and reporting at the college. JEE Advanced Cut off 2024
