Which IIT can I get with 10,000 rank in JEE Advanced?
With a 10,000 rank, you can still secure admission in IITs, but your chances for popular branches like CSE, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering are low. However, you can get admission to less competitive branches in top IITs, particularly in later rounds.
General (CRL) candidates can hope for branches such as Civil and Mechanical Engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Patna, and IIT Kharagpur, but CSE and EE are not possible. GEN-EWS candidates have relatively higher opportunities in Mechanical, Civil, and Metallurgical streams at IIT Kharagpur and IIT Patna.
OBC-NCL candidates have very good chances of studying Mechanical, Chemical, and Civil Engineering at IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Bombay. SC and ST candidates will be helped by reduced cutoffs, with chances in Civil, Metallurgical, and Chemical Engineering at IIT Patna, IIT Roorkee, and IIT Bhubaneswar.

Which IIT makes the toughest paper?
It is important to note that JEE Advanced paper is not set by a single IIT, but rather by experts from multiple institutes.
Although IIT Guwahati has been regarded as the institute that sets the toughest JEE Advanced paper, this perception is not entirely accurate. In 2016, IIT Guwahati conducted the exam and that year's paper was deemed challenging and controversial. However, when IIT Guwahati held JEE Advanced in 2023, there were no reports of an unusually difficult paper. Therefore, it is not possible to anticipate the difficulty level of JEE Advanced based on the conducting IIT.
