What is AP ECET 2027?

AP ECET stands for Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test. JNTUA conducts this exam every year on behalf of APSCHE. It is a lateral entry entrance test designed for candidates who have completed a diploma in engineering, technology, or pharmacy, or who hold a BSc degree with Mathematics as a subject. Through AP ECET, you skip the first year and join directly into the second year of engineering or pharmacy degree programs at participating colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

More than 55,000 lateral entry seats are available across around 240 government and private colleges. The exam is conducted in CBT (Computer-Based Test) mode and has 200 MCQs worth 200 marks. There is no negative marking, which makes it easier to attempt all questions. The AP ECET score is valid only for admissions in Andhra Pradesh.

AP ECET 2027 Eligibility Criteria

You must check the AP ECET 2027 eligibility criteria before filling the application form. JNTUA sets the rules on behalf of APSCHE. If you cannot prove your eligibility at the time of admission, your candidature will be cancelled — even if you qualified in the exam and got a seat allotment.

Nationality and Domicile

• You must be an Indian national.
• You must satisfy the Andhra Pradesh local candidate requirement, OR belong to a category specifically exempted from the domicile requirement under APSCHE rules.
• Candidates who studied in Andhra Pradesh for at least 4 years and completed their qualifying exam from AP are generally considered local candidates.

Academic Qualification

The required qualification depends on the stream you are applying for. You must also meet the minimum marks requirement:

Age Limit

There is no minimum or maximum age limit for AP ECET 2027. You can apply regardless of your age, as long as you meet the academic qualification requirement.

Candidates in Final Year

If you are in the final year of your diploma or BSc program, you can apply provisionally. However, you must complete your qualifying exam and produce the original marks memo before admission. If you do not score the minimum required marks in your qualifying exam, your admission will be cancelled even after seat allotment.

Other Conditions

• Candidates admitted through AP ECET join the second year (lateral entry) of B.E., B.Tech., or B.Pharmacy programs — not the first year.
• You can apply only for the stream matching your qualifying qualification — diploma in engineering candidates cannot apply for the pharmacy stream and vice versa.
• BSc (Mathematics) graduates can only apply for the BSc (Mathematics) stream and will be eligible for engineering branches, not pharmacy.

AP ECET 2027 Application Process

AP ECET 2027 applications must be submitted online at cets.apsche.ap.gov.in. The 2027 application window is expected to open in February 2027. Here is how you complete the AP ECET registration step by step:

1. Step 1 — Register: Visit the official APSCHE ECET portal and click on the new registration link. Enter your personal details (name, date of birth, Aadhar number) and create a password to set up your account.
2. Step 2 — Fill Application Form: Log in with your registered credentials. Fill in all required details — qualifying exam marks, stream, branch, exam centre preference, and category.
3. Step 3 — Upload Documents: Upload a recent passport-size photograph and your signature in the required format and size as specified in the official instructions.
4. Step 4 — Pay Application Fee: Pay the application fee online through net banking, debit card, or credit card. The fee is non-refundable once paid.
5. Step 5 — Submit and Print: Review all entered details very carefully before submitting. After submission, download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

You cannot edit the application after final submission. Check every detail carefully — especially your name, date of birth, qualifying marks, and category — before clicking Submit.

Start With the Branch Paper (100 Marks)

The branch-specific paper is the single biggest section — it carries 100 out of 200 marks for engineering candidates. Your rank depends heavily on how well you score here. Go through the JNTUA-prescribed syllabus for your branch and revise all diploma semester topics systematically. For CSE students, Data Structures and Programming are high-weight topics. For ECE, focus on Electronic Devices and Circuits. For EEE, prioritise Electrical Machines and Circuit Analysis.

Master Mathematics — Aim for Full Marks
