They also provided a lot of different extra curricular activities like football, badminton, cricket, basketball, volleyball, et cetera. There were also number of girls participating in nationals also.

Fees and Financial Aid

When I enrolled in the Bachelor's programme at Bharati College, the total fee for the entire course of three years was somewhat around 21,000. From which we had to pay an approximate of 7,000 per year. It feels worth mentioning that this amount does not cover the examination fees as it has to be paid separately. As far as I am aware, there was no fee waiver in this college. None of my classmates were the beneficiary of any scholarship.

Faculty

In my class, 42 students were there and we had a different facult for each of the course. In total, in one semester, atleast 3-4 professor were provide lectures. The examinations used to take place in the end of the semester with no mid sem exams, only assignments were handed to us that we had to complete and submit within the deadline. The exams were not so difficult but one has to go through the readings in order to pass them.

Course Curriculum Overview

Sociology is based on changes required in society. Life has becom so hectic these days that teen aged kids are having mental health issues. Our studies teaches us various aspects of human behaviour and social causes that needs attention. Our course teaches us how can we bring a social change and therefore I don't feel any need for changes in our course.

Placement Experience

Internships in government firms becomes mandatory for our course. Heath and mental coaching is also a part of our syllabus so such companies who deals in that are the ones who hired us. Since batch size is quite small, getting jobs from LSR campus is also not tough. Average jobs offered are of 6 LPA.

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is quite good. Every dept has 8 to 9 professors equipped with different skillsets. Sociology and english are one of the best faculties. Psychology has the worst faculty as they are unempathetic , rude Exams are from du so college has no role in it that it would be easy or tough. Course curriculum equips the students very well.

Course Curriculum Overview

Sociology hons brings in a lot of practical resarch which makes one dive into the realms of world getting insightful knowledge in diff dynamics. The curriculum involves presentation, book reading, assignments, tests all together helps in overall growth and conceptual clarity. Frequency of exams is twice in a ywar.

The evolution the theories and apart from it we have iitian faculty the mam teaches us EVs and its very good and beneficial because the expertise and the extra information we get from our mam is extra ordinary and good and we are just happy that we get such staff who listen to us and also provide many of the facilities we just aspire to live upon that

Fees and Financial Aid

In the first year, my fee was around 15000 which includes tution fee and admission fee(1000). In the second year my fee was 14000 approx due too no admission fee has been applied this year . There are various scholarships that Miranda House college provide to the students whose annual income is less than 2.5 lakh. These student get benefit of scholarship. There is no fee difference according to your categories except low income family , all the categories like general, obc , sc and sts have to pay the same fee for particular course.

Faculty

The faculty is good so far and there is a cordial relationship between students and faculty. The different departments have different faculty which makes it organised and easy going and students need not to go other faculties as there is a mentor mentee group headed by faculty which can help students in there personal and professional problems. The exams are based on 2 semester per year and they are good but the extra subject introduced by NEP caused little burden.

Although I wanted to take Political science honours but my cuet score is 771/800 so I have to opt my second preference that's Sociology honours. It's also very nice course. It changed my thinking process I've unlearned every thing which I learned and saw everything in a new perspective. I've chosen this course because I'm an upsc aspirant and this course can help me in improving my thinking process. 1. As for my batch(2023) , there were way fewer admission than we got this year(2024), so the teachers were sufficient for our class strength and we had a teacher for each respective subject. 2. I like my psychology faculty the best as it participants in almost all the extra activities like drama, dance , debates and overall most of the programs. 3. there is no particular faculty that I don't like , I feel like every faculty is doing there best in their field. 4. We have internal exams before the semester exams and we also have 2nd internal for the students who weren't able to perform that well or could attend the exams for any reasons. Then we have our semester exam , which is held in a very strict manner and mostly 2 professor are allotted in a single room for inspection and students aren't allowed to bring any electronics with them in the exam hall. Not many students fail to clear the exam , mostly it's the students who couldn't attend the exams fails and have to give the KT exam

Campus Life

1. Our college celebrates almost all the festival, the main fests for our college is arambh ( fresher's event) where celebrities are invented, I have personally encountered chunky Pandey and ameesha patel and navratri is celebrated joyfully with all the students and professors. 2. Our college doesn't charge any cost for the books we rent for library, the book can be rented for 1 week and 2 books can be rented at the same time by your respective library cards. 3. Our psychology lab is filled all the technical stuff we need for practical. 4. Sports event are held quite frequently and is celebrated by the students.

The name of annual fest is 'Shruti' . It is held in March or April. The college doesn't raise much fund for the department fest and also for college fest. Projectors are provided in most of the classrooms for PPT or documentary screenings. Students have accessibility of books and journals in the library, e-resources are provided in the library and It has wife range of books. The college doesn't pay much attention to sports and some societies like izhar 'poetry' was recently dissolved.

Course Curriculum Overview

I enjoyed studying sociology in my 11th and 12th class. That made me opt for sociology and the course is quite interesting (depends upon how it is taught) . I found it very relatable with the society, some thinkers are difficult to understand but not so difficult. The students should be more engaged in field work, as they'll be able to relate more. The frequency and timing of exam is perfect.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose Sociology as my subject for graduation because I found it relevant to understanding the society in which we live and how we are shaped by society. The curriculum teaches you about different sociologists and their theories and their views and perspectives as to how they define a so-called social phenomenon. Further, it helps in understanding the complexities of the society and the individual involvement in it. the teaching method has a scope for improvement, as it can be a little bit more practical rather than all theoretical as it can be a little boring sometimes.

DU provides a spectrum of societies, fests, and many more opportunities for students to come out of their comfort zones and be their best version. there are summer fests and winter fests. also, the Holi fests and the Dandia nights are mesmerizing. typically, almost every book is available in the libraries but DU also provides an E-library portal for the free access of books. the classes are equipped with projectors but not all of them work. du provides sports options too. and NCC and NSS too.

Faculty

The faculty members are very friendly and approachable. The teachers are very creative and expressive with their teaching methods and always strive for betterment. The course structure is very diverse and we get to learn beyond what is prescribed. The examinations are usually held under NEHU (North East Hill University) which is why we may face problems at times when it comes to the results announced as it is usually irresponsibly conducted but the examinations conducted by the institution itself, internals and practicals are carried out effortlessly without the possibility of any misconduct. NEHU follows the marking scheme given and followed by all national universities.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure in Edmund's for the course of Bachelor in Arts (Ba Sociology) 2024 per semester including the Mdc's and Sec's as per NEP 2020 is 18,500 approximately so per year it costs a students of sociology hons a sum of 37,000 approximately. The fee structure is subject to change however any increase in the fee structure is rarely noticed and if noticed it is not by a huge sum of money (not more than 500). As for courses with practicals such as physical sciences, the fee structures differs and is slightly higher compared to subjects without practicals.

Fees and Financial Aid

In every semester I paid 17,500 and adding addmission the total amount is 22500 which is huge amount. And scholarship is helpful of course but it's not enough because in a year I pay 22500 whereas amount of is scholarship 12000, However we do not get 12000 at once, we get according to installment wise . Therefore, really not satisfied with that. Regardless, thanks to the government for giving us the opportunity.

Faculty

The teachings are excellent, but some teachers in my department has the personality to look forward only to his or her favourite studies. Well, some teachers are friendly and kind. To be honest, the marking during exams are very unexpected, they usually gives us low Mark's but yeah it helps us to score good marks during our external exams.

The exact fee is 28575rs. And it's same for everyone. Other than this we have examination fee for every sem it's about 1400-1500 according to category. Other than that there are no fee payment, which I remember off. The fee for my barchmates are also same, we have submit our fee per year after our results are out. As for the hostel fee I'm not really sure about how much it is, but it's pretty expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

The year wise fees is structure is divided between two semesters for each 6 months the amount that i pay in 1st semester is 3850 and for the 2nd semester i need to pay a little less amount of 3650. This fees structure is followed just by the students studying sociology honours and for the other B.A the amount varies. If you have your percentage above 60% you are given scholarship every year but you have to maintain your percentage.

Faculty

The faculty is very well rounded and the students are also good amount as they can give us much needed attention. The teachers are very much interactive and keep the lesson engaging. The mentorship is also good as they are very much helpful when needed.

Fees and Financial Aid

the tuition fees are very high but it is still worth as we compare to the teaching and the study materials they provide free library entry etc the teachers are fulfilling their job nicely and teaches us in their best way as they could and about the campus they provide a clean and large campus and there is a parking lot too which can fit more than 300 vehicles

Faculty

The ratio of our class is 16 in numbers even though we are less in number it is more comfortable for our teachers as well as for us because the teacher can teach us very clearly and they can clear our doubts one by one since we are less in number . we can interact with our teachers anytime anywhere and they are always there for us

Ques. How do I prepare for the BHU BA (Hons.) in social science entrance exam?

● Top Answer By Sayanti Shome, on 11 Nov 21

Ans. One of my friends studied at Banaras Hindu University (BHU). According to him, BA social science entrance exam demands you to be knowledgeable in the field of humanities.  All you have to do is cover the current affairs section very well and along with that keep an eye on the previous year's questions. Some questions include topics on psychology or philosophy. For this, you don't have to go through the topics elaborately. You can solve previous year's questions to get a general idea. These are a must to pass BHU BA Social Science entrance examination.  For current affairs, you can keep yourself updated by reading newspapers and magazines. This will improve your vocabulary and writing ability. Knowing history will also be helpful. So prepare accordingly.Read more

Ques. What is DUs syllabus for BA Humanities and Social Science Admission test?

● Top Answer By Sneha Paul Sam on 12 Oct 22

Ans. To begin, one must mentally prepare to continue reading newspapers every day and attempting to comprehend editorial opinions and social issues. It would be beneficial to read some philosophy books based on your own understanding, thereby increasing your ability to think about society in terms of how well-educated people perceive women, girls, and people's difficulties. A good understanding of General Studies and your 12th-class texts from the Arts field is required.  The entrance exam is not based on math, reasoning, or English; rather, it is based on your social background, as well as your opinion and mindset. This entrance has only 20 or 30 seats. So be cautious, and good planning will ensure your success.Read more
