Course Curriculum Overview

5

This course is very useful for me in civil services examination because Optional subject remains important in Upsc examination and if u are already pursuing a degree in a subject which will be your optional in civil services examination then it will be great choice of yours . curriculum prepares me so well. Recently teachers werw changed due to their poor performances in class. This improvement was done. Now exams frequency and timings wero also fine and there was not difficultly level at all

Fees and Financial Aid

so I'm doing sociology honours in banaras hindu university. Here Rs. 11300 was taken by me for the first time and this fees remains same for all the upcoming semisters too. Fees can vary according to your college and course. The fees of FMC is very low as compared to affiliated colleges. Like my friends who are in FMC , their fees remains around 5k to6k of a year. This is annual fees. For filling the form of this university, or we can say the registration fees was Rs. 250. So this amount was taken by me as I'm a sc student. For General's, it was 500. And if u want to participate in any event , u need to pay a certain for everything. No library fees in main campus but in affiliated colleges like ampg if u want to take book in your hostel , u need to give 1 Rupee for one day. There are so many sclorships which you can apply like UP SCLORSHIP. For this the eligibility is domicile of UP, family income less than 2.5 lakh for Sc and for others 2 lakhs and others you can check in websites. Overall, bhu is affordable than most of the universities.

Campus Life

5

My overall experience is very good because this university provides me everything which i wanted. From academics to sports and clubs etc. Life of campus is good , infrastructure is decent , social aspects and clubs involvement are common here , u will get NGO's SOCIETY here which will teach u , how to help children of slum areas and all. You will get functions and festivals here almost everyday , in every week u will get something to enjoy. Books and journals are available in Library in larger amount. you will get alot for Sports and extracurricular activities here. The imapcts of social groups , clubs are positive here.

Admission

i choosed this because i wanted a peaceful environment, where academic pressure should be less so that i can prepare for other exams too. I wanted a chill life so that i can explore easily . so yeah it was my best option to use this. I also wanted a college where i can work on my skills , and this college provides me environment for performing extracurricular activities and to participate in clubs , debates etc. For overall development this college is best

Faculty

Professor are very good ,like Deepmala mam , Bithika mam . They are very helpful. Their teachings are very good. it becomes easy to understand topics in their class but there are also so many professor's who don't know how to teach properly. Their sounds remains in first two batches only. They are not serious about students life.Best faculty, IIT OF FMC , POLITICAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT, HISTORY DEPARTMENT, SOCIOLOGY DEPARTMENT IS ALSO GOOD. BUT I LIKE IIT DEPARTMENT DUE TO IT'S MODERN INFRASTRUCTURE , BEST VACATIONS AND GOOD ENVIRONMENT...I DON'T LIKE FACILITIES OF SOME MAIN CAMPUS BECAUSE CLASSES ARE IRREGULAR THERE BUT IN AFFILIATED COLLGES..MOST OF THE CLASSES REMAINS REGULAR..

Interview Experience

2

yes i faced group discussion here and it was related with class performances. we need to present topics in class whatever teached in previous day and we were entered in our class at ist day out introduction was held where so many questions were asked and till now I didn't get any GD, interview or test pattern. yeah , teachers had sent us in WhatsApp about test patterns. ,the criteria of admission was filling form of bhu cuet on Cap portal. Then your cuet marks will matter.....your english marks and general aptitude marks will matter to take admission here....To prepare for these rounds..u need to focus on english and general aptitude knowledge and that's all

Night Life

5

My favourite hang out place is Vishvanath temple...which is under the campus of Banaras Hindu University Varanasi, i spend late nights in this temple too.....after classes students like to visit cafe which is beside Vishvanath temple. The cold coffee of that cafe is very famous....And gym is decent , the gym of affiliated colleges is more resourcefull and beautiful than main campus. .....u need to return to Hostel before 9;:00 and campus timing remains on every time because different courses has different timings so most of the campus remains open . Famous hangout is cold coffee of Banaras Hindu University near Vishvanath temple. And the area near Vishvanath temple is safe to roam and here u can spend ur time and u will get peace here.

Amity University, Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Economics)
Reviewed on Nov 15, 2024(Enrolled 2018)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum at Amity University is a well rounded blend of theortical principles and practical relevance that shaped my future career. There are modules like microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics and statistics that provide a strong formation for any future career opportunities in economics or finance. Additionally the presence of specialise subject like health economics, developmental economics, international trade, public policy and behavioural economics very highly appealing and something you would not find in other universities or/and government university. The inclusion of such modules got my attention because it promised to go beyond traditional economic subjects and focusing on the practical subjects that are also industry specific level of domain of economics. They were also research projects, data analysis classes, case studies throughout the three year course which allows students to apply and test their knoweldge that further enhance the value of the degree. There were also subjects like environmental sciences, psychology, communicative English which was made mandatory for students that help them shape their personality and adapt more to a corporate setting. The examination system is designed to assess the viability of skills and critically but the difficulty of exam especially towards the end of semester can create unnecessary pressure for students. There will be time that there will be last minute syllabus changes or additional chapters to be considered and there is no structured format of what you can expect in the written exam however there is a fair grading system though some students feel that instead of the exams there can be more emphasis on analytical side rather than modules that require rote learning.

Overall curriculum was good that they make proper schedules of classes and all but there was something lacking is that sometimes the professor was absent and we wasn't aware about that and sitting in that class without knowing they should inform us or make a proper arrangement for replacing of class with other teacher and also there was lacking of technology in studies I didn't remember how many times they used the projector for proper teaching.
