Students in the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) department become eligible for placements after their 6th semester. However, the current placement rate is low due to challenging economic conditions, with only 5 ECE students securing placements by the end of January. Internships can be found on platforms like Internshala, while the department may occasionally offer opportunities. It's advisable for students to consult seniors regarding placements during their 2nd or 3rd year for better decision-making.
The total fee for programs such as ECE, IT, and CSE is Rs. 5,50,000, with about Rs. 65,500 due each semester. To ease the financial burden, the West Bengal government provides the Swami Vivekananda Merit-Cum-Means (SVMCM) scholarship, offering Rs. 60,000 annually. Moreover, student loans are available for additional financial assistance. Despite initial promises of robust placement opportunities, the recession has led to poor placement outcomes, although internships remain accessible.
