Techno India University and Techno India Salt Lake share the same campus, but there are some differences that set them apart. 

  • TIU is a self-financed private autonomous institute. While, Techno India, Salt Lake is affiliated with MAKAUT.
  • For each stream, TIU follows its own syllabus. While Techno India, Salt Lake follows the syllabus of MAKAUT.
  • Techno India University Fees are higher. A B.E or B.Tech from the institute will cost around INR 2.68 Lakhs to INR 6.32 Lakhs. Techno India Salt Lake changes around INR 3.67 Lakhs. 

Placements are almost the same at both institutes. Given a choice between these two, you should choose TIU because of its administration, advanced curriculum, and better infrastructure.

In respect to studies and placements, IEM Kolkata is better than Techno India Saltlake. As a student of the institute, you will get decent exposure and placement opportunities. Reputed MNCs like L&T Infotech, TCS, Wipro, Deloitte, Infosys, Concentrix, etc. visit IEM Kolkata placements. The average CTC for the institute is around INR 7 LPA.

Haldia Institute of Technology is the better choice of the two due to the following reasons.

Infrastructure: (Winning Institution - HIT)

Infrastructure wise Haldia Institute of Technology is better than Techno India. 

  • HIT boasts of a 37-acre campus. They have separate hostels for students of different years of study. The hostel rent too is cheaper when compared to Techno India and provides all the facilities needed for a student. 
  • The campus comprises many sports facilities both indoor and outdoor games along with a gym. There are basketball courts and volleyball courts inside the hostel. It has a field for football and a building with indoor game facilities like table tennis and carrom. 
  • The classrooms are not air-conditioned but very specious. 
  • The campus has Xerox shops, general stores, canteens for the convenience of the students.
  • The cost of living in Haldia is lower. You can make a comfortable living with 5,000 per month.

Academics: (Winning Institution - HIT)

  • HIT has good faculty and well-equipped labs on the campus. The HIT has the best lab facilities available among the colleges under WBUT.
  • Academics are taken quite seriously. Students start to prepare for GATE, CAT from their 3rd year. The college assists in preparing the students for competitive exams which is very useful. 
  • The Professors and Lab Assistants are helpful and friendly.

Techno India Salt Lake is a better option for CSE. It offers excellent placement for the branch. The placement average for CSE is around 80%. Microsoft, Informatics, Byjus, etc. visit Techno India placement. The average package for CSE is around INR 5-6 LPA. The highest CTC goes up to INR 15-20 LPA.

Techno India Saltlake is the main campus of Techno India Group and is the best college in the group. It is especially good for circuital branches such as IT, and CSE. The institute has an excellent faculty base. However, for engineering, you can’t entirely depend on your professors for studies. 

Techno India Saltlake placements are great. Each year around 80-90% of students get placements. Amazon, TCS, and Wipro are among the major recruiter for the institute.

Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT) is a very popular engineering institute and if you are interested in pursuing Chemical engineering then you should definitely take admission in this college. 

  • The competition is much less for chemical engineering students and a lot of facilities are available for them.
  • There are a lot of placement opportunities available for students and they can easily get a job in both core and IT companies. 
  • Many students are getting PSU through GATE and some core companies such as BOC, PCBL, Paharpur Cooling towers, Voith Papers, etc. visit the campus for interviews. 
  • But if you are interested in technology and coding then you should probably choose Techno India as this college provides very good opportunities to CSE students.

Techno India University commonly called as TIU & Techno India salt lake (TISL) have a common thing that they fall under one group that is TIG( TECHNO INDIA GROUP), Kolkata although considering TISL as the main campus because TIU is an autonomous one.

Techno India salt lake is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University Of Technology (MAKAUT), which offers both UG and PG courses. The admission here is done on merit basis as it accepts the scores of WBJEE, JEE (Main) , MAT, JEMAT & JECA.
