The scholarship also grants to good students, their placement training and assistance are brilliant, and our college is always ranked in the highest placement ratio.
Our college gives a huge opportunity to each and every student to get placed in the reputed company and they can a get a good idea of how the interview done
Teachers are really helpful and are passionate about their subject and motivate us to make changes in the learning experience .they provide helpful meaningful notes for students to prepare for exam.they do listen to students suggestions while teaching.

Dislikes

College canteen is not so good. the food they provide its not good
The average package is very low . last placements were not so good .
Hostels are not good there..students prefer more for pg and own flat,as hostels also don't have good mess as there foods are not good.

Life at University of Engineering and Management Kolkata

Likes

The faculties were helpful and were providing utmost guidance throughout the 4 years of graduation
The facilities including well maintained labs,which includes computer lab,electronics lab,bio technology lab

Dislikes

The uniform culture as in college students should be allowed to wear casual clothes but here you need to wear uniforms
The timings of the college were fixed which was from 9:30am till 4pm,they could have provided more flexible timings

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum for ECE was at par with the industry's standards and had all the important subject matters included in the curriculum. The curriculum includes both theory and practical based learning.Technical rounds and Gd pi sessions helped us to have practical knowledge for placements. The exams are both quarterly and half yearly basis with very high difficulty level .

Life in an Engineering College

Likes

Discipline is one and foremost thing of this college.
Early placement trainings are being provided from Second year itself.
Co curricular activities are provided to each and every students and everyone's talent is being encouraged.

Dislikes

Long college hours from 9 at morning to 5 at evening.
Classrooms are not air conditioned, it becomes very problematic in summers.
Some of the computers in laboratory sometimes does not work

Placement Experience:

The placement process usually starts from 6th semester. The mass reciuters of the college is TCS and Wipro. The college provides 100 percent placement . My plans after getting the degree is to secure a good job in a good company.

A fresher's review of UEMK

Likes

No ragging takes place in the campus, whole campus is under cctv surveillance
Seniors are very helpful and friendly in behavior
Many tech activities are done throughout the year

Dislikes

Too much strictness, no freedom, unnecessary strictness
Placement is not as much as shown in advertisement
Many teachers are qualified but can't teach at all

Placement Experience:

I heard the placement is good, before the previous year the placement was good but last year place was not upto the mark. This college is doing business by taking admission of a lot of students and naturally that much students can't get placed.

University of engineering and management Kolkata has good placement record
Uem is one of the best engineering colleges in kolkta with big classroom and good faculty
Faculties of UEM Kolkata are very helpful

Dislikes

Washrooms were not cleaned properly.
Uem Kolkata campus is too much strict...they always follow their restrictions

???? UEM Kolkata offers good placement. I got placed in Cognizant and in my batch (2023 pass out) cognizant, mindtreeLte, Accenture, Capgemini, Tata Consultancy services, Wipro are the mass hiring companies.

UEM KOLKATA REVIEW

Likes

The professors at UEM are highly knowledgeable and use effective teaching methods, which greatly enhances the learning experience.

Dislikes

The lack of air conditioned classrooms makes it uncomfortable, especially for exams during hot summers.
While the campus is generally well maintained, some of the facilities and infrastructure could use significant improvements to better support students.
The course curriculum, although rigorous , sometimes feels outdated and not fully aligned with current industry demands and trends.

Placement Experience:

From the 6th sem, placements begin , there are virtual interviews as well as face to face interviews on campus. companies of different sizes with different pay packages visit and go through a rigorous selection process and hire the best.

Placement opinion regarding OJT

Likes

Professors are the most favourable factors of our university.
Course had a brief lesson regarding each and everything
Placement cell is also supportive regarding campus placements

Dislikes

The distance between my home and my college
The time taken to reach the university everyday
Scarcity of resources outside the college

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester or before also according to NOC. IEMA with highest package of 7200000, TCS,Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant. 97 percentage of students are getting placed through campus placements. I am willing to do MBA after my bachelor's.

I always had an interest for nano technology so I chose electronics and communication engineering.i really got to know many things from college actually. Various competitions and various seminars were also held from eminent personalities.

Teachers way of teaching. They really teach very well.
Gate preparation. This is the only campus in West Bengal where they provide free Gate coaching which is really beneficial for us.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements were quite good upto 2023 batch. But this year many companies are not hiring employees anymore which is the major reason for the downfall in Campus placements. I hope the situation will get better next year. Last year the highest package was 72 LPA and average package was 8.83 LPA. This year till now only 184 students got their placements and many are yet to get. I am planning for doing m.tech after this degree.

College review of UEM Kolkata

Likes

The library is too big and there are sufficient books to read.
The faculties are so friendly and good they helps us very much.
The rules and regulation of the college built the students.

Dislikes

There is a dress code in the college student pay a huge amount for this.
There is no play ground here so we can't play freely.
The campus is too small it just start and end here

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester students are eligible for their campus placements. There are many companies visiting in our college. Like Samsung, Infosys, whipro, TCS etc etc. The highest package of our college is 72lpa and the avg package is 8 lpa here. Almost every students get placed here. After getting my degree I want to do some higher studies and search for govt job.

Likes

The discipline of the college is too nice to have.
The cleaning process and good environment,I like it in my university.
The encouragement from faculties motivates me a lot.

Dislikes

There is no attachment to playground to play sports.
The disciplines and rules are too strict to follow
There is some glitch in the official website of University which needs to be improved.

Placement Experience:

Form 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Samsung, Capgemini etc companies are visite the campus for placement. The highest package is 72 lakh in UEM campus. Almost 100% gate the placement. After getting the degree I'm interested in masters.

Why am I getting so negative reviews about UEM Kolkata?

UEM Kolkata has been the highlight of negative views lately and here are the reasons:

It is fairly new and hasn’t reached any milestone yet which makes it unreliable according to the standards set in society. People don’t trust newly established private universities.
The entrance exam of UEM Kolkata is very easy and people pass it without any problem.
UEM Kolkata is new and therefore has no accomplishments and therefore uses the records of UEM Jaipur which makes parents skeptical.
The Institute has a very strict environment and therefore comes in the way of students who want to enjoy their college life. These students somehow convince their parents that the Institute is not good for them.
UEM Kolkata had issues with UGC(University Grants Commission) and is not recognized by the government and therefore it creates doubts about the degree among students.

These are some of the reasons why some students will be skeptical about joining UEM Kolkata. Talk to the students presently studying there as they can only provide you with the exact information. Try visiting the institute beforehand and decide for yourself.
