The IEMJEE 2026 (Institute of Engineering and Management Joint Entrance Exam) exam window has closed today — May 30, 2026 — completing the 2026 exam cycle that included an online CBT window (December 8, 2025 – May 30, 2026) and a single-day offline exam on April 3, 2026. Conducted by the IEM-UEM Group (Institute of Engineering and Management and University of Engineering and Management), IEMJEE is the primary entrance route for B.Tech admissions at IEM and UEM campuses in Kolkata and Jaipur. • Counselling Phase 2 and Beyond: Phase 1 counselling (April 2–11, 2026) is already complete. Approximately 6 more counselling phases covering all remaining seats are expected to begin in June–July 2026, once the consolidated merit list is published.
• Seat Allotment: Seats are allotted across IEM Salt Lake (Kolkata), IEM New Town (Kolkata), UEM Kolkata, and UEM Jaipur based on IEMJEE rank, course preference, and seat availability. A seat confirmation fee of ₹7,000 is required to secure any allotted seat.

What is IEMJEE 2026?

IEMJEE stands for Institute of Engineering and Management Joint Entrance Exam. It is a university-level entrance test conducted by the IEM-UEM Group — the group that runs the Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM) and University of Engineering and Management (UEM). The exam is used for B.Tech admissions across campuses in Salt Lake (Kolkata), New Town (Kolkata), and Jaipur.

One of the biggest advantages of IEMJEE is that it is completely free to apply. There is no application fee for any candidate. Any Class 12 student with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics can register and appear at zero cost.

The exam follows the JEE Main format — 90 multiple-choice questions across Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, totalling 360 marks. IEMJEE 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Before you apply for IEMJEE 2026, you should check all the eligibility conditions set by the IEM-UEM Group. Candidates who meet the exam criteria but fail to fulfil the academic conditions at the time of admission will not be given a seat.

Educational Qualification

• You must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from any recognized board in India.
• Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in your Class 12.
• You must score a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.
• A minimum of 70% marks in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics combined) is required.
• Candidates appearing in Class 12 board exams in 2026 can apply and appear in IEMJEE. Final admission will only be given after they submit their marksheets with the required percentage.

Age Limit

There is no age limit for IEMJEE 2026. The IEM-UEM Group does not set any minimum or maximum age restriction for candidates applying to B.Tech programs.

Nationality

• Both Indian nationals and foreign nationals are eligible to apply for IEMJEE 2026.
• Foreign nationals must meet the same academic eligibility criteria as Indian candidates.

B.Tech Lateral Entry Eligibility

Candidates seeking direct admission to the second year of B.Tech (lateral entry) do not need to appear in IEMJEE. Lateral entry admissions at IEM-UEM follow the WB JELET examination structure. You should check the official WB JELET notification for lateral entry eligibility.

Class 12 students who are waiting for their board results can apply and appear in IEMJEE 2026. However, if your marks at the time of admission are below the minimum eligibility threshold (60% aggregate, 70% PCM), your admission will be cancelled even if you have a good IEMJEE rank.

How to Apply for IEMJEE 2026

The IEMJEE 2026 application is completely free. There is no application fee at any stage of registration. For the 2026 cycle, the online exam window and registration have now closed (May 30, 2026). Step-by-Step Registration Process

• Step 1 – Create Account: Visit the official portal and register using a valid email ID and mobile number. Your email ID is critical — the hall ticket is sent to this address only.
• Step 2 – Fill the Application Form: Enter your personal details, academic information (Class 10 and 12 details), and choose your preferred campus (Kolkata or Jaipur).
• Step 3 – Upload Documents: Upload your photograph (recent passport size) and signature in the specified format.
• Step 4 – Select Exam Slot: Choose your preferred date and time slot for the online CBT. Two daily slots are available: Slot I (12:00 PM – 2:00 PM) and Slot II (2:30 PM – 4:30 PM).
• Step 5 – Submit the Form: Review all details carefully and submit the application. No payment is required. You will receive the hall ticket on your registered email ID.

Documents Required at Registration

Enter your email ID very carefully during registration. The hall ticket / admit card is sent only to the registered email ID. An incorrect email entry means you will not receive your hall ticket and cannot appear in the exam.

IEMJEE 2026 Syllabus

Mathematics is the key differentiator in IEMJEE rankings. Calculus and Algebra together account for more than half of the Mathematics questions. Give extra practice time to these two topics. IEMJEE 2026 Admit Card

The IEMJEE 2026 admit card (hall ticket) is sent directly to the candidate’s registered email ID after successful slot booking. There is no separate download portal — you get it by email after you register and select your exam slot.

For the Offline Exam (April 3, 2026)

The admit card for the IEMJEE 2026 offline exam was available from March 27, 2026. The offline exam was held on April 3, 2026, and has now concluded. Candidates who appeared in the offline mode already have their hall tickets and should retain them for the counselling process.

For the Online CBT (December 2025 – May 30, 2026)

For the online CBT, the hall ticket was emailed to the registered email ID once a candidate successfully booked an exam slot. Since the online window has now closed, all 2026 candidates who appeared in the online mode have their hall tickets from email.

• The hall ticket contains the exam date, time slot, and exam centre details.
• You must affix a recent passport-size photograph on the printed hall ticket before going to the exam centre.
• Carry the hall ticket along with a valid government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar card, voter ID, or passport) to the exam centre on exam day.
• Entry to the exam hall is not allowed without a valid hall ticket.

IEMJEE 2026 Preparation Tips

IEMJEE 2026 is based entirely on Class 11 and 12 PCM, following the JEE Main pattern. The difficulty level is moderate — easier than JEE Main but with the same format and negative marking. Since the exam window has now closed, these tips are most relevant for 2027 aspirants. For 2026 candidates already through the exam, this section helps understand what the preparation focus should be going into the academic session.

1. Build on NCERT First

Most IEMJEE questions at the basic and moderate level are directly aligned with NCERT concepts. Go through all NCERT chapters for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (Classes 11 and 12) thoroughly. Do not skip theory — the definitions, laws, and formulas from NCERT appear directly in the paper.

2. Use JEE Main Resources

Since IEMJEE mirrors the JEE Main format exactly — same question type, same marking scheme, same subjects — you can use all JEE Main study material, mock tests, and previous year papers for IEMJEE preparation. No separate books are needed for IEMJEE specifically.

3. Prioritize Mathematics and Calculus

Mathematics separates toppers in IEMJEE. Calculus (Differentiation and Integration) and Algebra (Complex Numbers, Matrices, Permutation and Combination) together form more than 50% of the Math section. Practice at least 30 to 40 problems daily in these areas during the last two months before your exam.
