What Students Say

Likes

Discipline is one and foremost thing of this college.
Early placement trainings are being provided from Second year itself.
Co curricular activities are provided to each and every students and everyone's talent is being encouraged.

Dislikes

Long college hours from 9 at morning to 5 at evening.
Classrooms are not air conditioned, it becomes very problematic in summers.
Some of the computers in laboratory sometimes does not work

Course Curriculum Overview

The college besides being providing excellent academic courses it also provides extra curricular activities such as teaching french, physical education, singing , dancing, painting, programming and many more

Internships Opportunities

The intership opportunities are through internshala platform Students are been instructed to engage themselves in various projects from the first year onwards with the main academic project from second year.

Placement Experience

The placement process usually starts from 6th semester. The mass reciuters of the college is TCS and Wipro. The college provides 100 percent placement . My plans after getting the degree is to secure a good job in a good company.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees is RS 1,70,000 that is ?85,000 per semester as in 2023 The fees is increasing by RS 10,000 for each semester with each passing year Scholarship is provided to economically backward students after providing proper proofs.

Campus Life

There are usually 3 main events held in the college with the one as the tech fest and the two are annual cultural fests. There are over 20,000 to 30,000 books and journals available in the library with all the books required for the academic year

Admission

I chose this college over other colleges because of the discipline this college follows and also the fees is comparatively affordable than other colleges. The admission process of this College is usually through WBJEE or IEMJEE

Faculty

The faculties are really very helpful. They will always welcome you after the class hours for asking any kind of doubts and will surely clear your doubts . In each semester are there are two midsems and one end sem exams, the level of the exam is moderate, if you carefully follow the class lectures and notes your will secure a fairly good marks

Reality of IIT KGP

Placement Experience:

Placements depends on your skills Usually there is a compulsory internship at the end of 3rd year If you didnt get it via college you should do it from outside but its compulsory And at the end of 4th year you get placement. Placemeng isnt 100% . If you have the skill you will get placed thats the criteria.many people say you are in IIT your life is sorted .but that aint the reality

Placement Experience:

The students can apply for internship via Career Development Centre in the beginning of their pre final Year. they can go for off campus intern whenever they want. Most of the goo companies would come and mostly for software finance consulting etc. The placements start in the second last semester as far as i know. The competition for placement is getting really high these days

Course Curriculum Overview:

I read in CSE(AIML) AI ML perspective and couse curriculam inluenced me to admit in college. Teachers often make real-world applications gor any pariculatr topic. I think more practical based an implement based curriculam should be added rather than more theorital subs. Most case college is form 9am -5 pm Like (9-5 job) .

From fifth semester you are eligible for the intership . And from seventh semester you are eligible for the placement. Many companies visited our college such as TCS , IBM ,COGIZINANT, amd many more . The highest package is around 15 lpa and the average package is 4 - 5 lpa . The placement ratio is around 80 - 85 %

NIT DURGAPUR - A Detailed Breakdown

Placement Experience:

Students generally start getting their pre-placement offers from their 3rd year after completion of their internships other students gets their placement too in their final year. Starting from Apple to Google and Microsoft too hired some of our senior but the number of the students get placed in those tech giant companies is very less but there are mass recruiters too like TCS infosys PW chaitanya education TATA steel BHARAT petroleum and many other companies the offers are made based upon the eligibility of the students and the packages are decided based on the skillset and experience of the students . Highest package was 70 LPA this year and the average packages are also pretty good based upom the companies and their offers it ranges from 15-30 LPA .Almost 80-83% students gets placed but it depends on the branch of the students and their skillsets.I want to sit for GATE exam after completion of my BTech and want to persue MTech

SURTECH REVIEW

Course Curriculum Overview:

The university is MAKAUT so the curriculum is up to the mark. I liked Programming so I chose B.TECH in CSE. The curriculum is very basic in terms of practical world problem though they are building blocks, but you need to do the extra bit of work to qualify for the real world scenarios. I think more mandatory projects integrated with current set of skills would be a cherry on top. Exams are very frequent like every 3-4 months there is a semester exam and they are moderately difficult.

Remarks:

Placement for IT streams is very good but not good for the core stream. Infrastructure and campus beauty are very good. Faculty are average. Canteens are slightly costly but foods are ok. Hostel and Transport facilities are available.

If you want to join ths college you have give IEMJEE (their own admission exam) or through WBJEE Exam. But don't worry pal half of it's admission is done by management quota and rest of the seat is seal by external broker. I took admission in this college as I did not get a good rank in jee to get admission in any IIT of top tier colleges and had not option of a 1year drop and preparation.
