The scholarship also grants to good students, their placement training and assistance are brilliant, and our college is always ranked in the highest placement ratio.
Our college gives a huge opportunity to each and every student to get placed in the reputed company and they can a get a good idea of how the interview done
Teachers are really helpful and are passionate about their subject and motivate us to make changes in the learning experience .they provide helpful meaningful notes for students to prepare for exam.they do listen to students suggestions while teaching.

Dislikes

College canteen is not so good. the food they provide its not good
The average package is very low . last placements were not so good .
Hostels are not good there..students prefer more for pg and own flat,as hostels also don't have good mess as there foods are not good.

Honest Review of a UEM New Town Student

Likes

The location. The college is situated at a decent and less crowded area. A safe footpath directly leads to it.
The cafeteria. All sorts of lunches are provided. Junk food, evening meals, occasion meals, etc. And all of them are at affordable cost too, far cheaper than a restaurant's.
Ragging is highly prohibited here and seriously taken. The HOD of the CSE department is well known for taking brutal actions against any bully.

Dislikes

There is no 'Singular' class. Different subjects are taught in different rooms.
There is no decent-sized playing field around.
Joint section classes can sometimes be overcrowded since 100 students are approx in per section.

Course Curriculum Overview:

-> CSE is the main stream because under this, other courses like Cybersecurity can be learned as extra courses, while still learning things that are very important like DSA and DAA. -> Everything is taught slightly fast and students have to keep up everyday. Even one class missed will be heavy on studying. -> The mic quality in some classes are bad and should be improved. It's impossible to understand what the teachers says when using them. -> Usually term exams start one month after the start of a semester, with the Semester exam being held 3 months later.

Likes

Good study environment along with helping professors
Good placement ratio with support from professors as well
Ragging free campus along with strict rules against raggers

Dislikes

Food quality of the hostel is very bad and recommended to don’t opt for hostel

Placement Experience:

Placement ratio is very good with highest placement offer of 55lpa and yes there are on campus placements also in which companies lies TCS, Wipro, Cognizant come hiring a bulk of students and the faculties also assist you for off campus placements too

Excellence with good culture of academic and infrastructure

I appreciate for the environment of the college as it is well disciplined college not so shouting inside anywhere also the faculty are very good especially for the Computer science and Engineering department in BTech.
Quality of social interaction is also good but not that much good as the college have a medium size campus not so fancy type but it's like the classes and halls are well decorated and infrastructure are quite nice but it has to be improved more.
The faculty and there teaching skills are quite good and easy to understand but some faculties are not that level of good , the professors are very good in the college also HOD of CSE department is very kind and understand students concern.

Dislikes

I dislike the campus size it need to be extend or need to be improved also some labs have defect computer and its accessories that must be improved
Also I more thing I don't like that there are no active clubs related study and stuffs but there are many active clubs for extra curriculam like dancing singing etc. but there is so active clubs like coding Ai ML clubs etc
Also the food they served during recess is not good the quality of the food is cheap but the students ate that foods on compulsion but it need to be improved

Course Curriculum Overview:

The BTech degree from CSE the curriculum plus subjects are good enough for the placements and all also there are good facilities for the programming and dsa related stuffs The curriculum is kind of average not so good , I think it can be taught in many universities also but it's okay They need improvement on more focusing on programming and dsa also AI subjects and topics Timing for exams is fair enough and difficulty level is not so high, I got 8.7 cgpa overall so the exams are so difficult neither so easy

Uem a Nightmare

Likes

Holiday's because on that time we don't have to go college because going is our college is very hectic because wearing uniform daily is very bad with I card and all these nonsense

Dislikes

Infrastructure is very bad in short we have nothing
Teacher here quality teacher's are very less

Personally I love coding that why I have choosen this course In our college everyone is obsessed with placement nothing else there are lots to improve in our college like way of teaching, knowledge etc Exam frequency is not that bad it's good .

Placement Experience:

3rd year and 4th year student can prepare for placement even from 2nd year the placement aptitude classes and placement coding classes already starts which helps the student to boost up their confidence and cracks the interview easily.

Likes

Variety of courses and many branches of CSE available (though these are added recently, so you can get an idea that the teaching capability in those curriculum still need a huge implementation).
Almost 0 ragging in our campus. (As of my knowledge)
There is 1 library available. Library is kind of ok. Open till 8:30 pm (need permission for that).

Dislikes

Unorganized, lack of management, need immediate improvement in infrastructure as this year(2025) itself college took 2k students and even having 3 buildings but huge verities of offered courses.
For 6.5k students only one canteen with capacity of less than 150. You can find 4-5 small vendor food stalls during lunch and can get food only if you are good runner and have ability to handle the chaos like a small fair and have good luck that day.
Up to 2nd yr as of my opinion I got chance to attend many faculties' classes and I can assure you 80% of them inexperienced and 50% of them 'chal jayega' and 30% of them are completely disaster. But of course there are 5-6 extraordinary faculties.

Being a Tier-3 college in comparision to other colleges at this level, I'll say the placement is a lili bit better. Atleast more or less they bring some companies (of course don't except any tycoon name). So if you are enable to learn some skills and gain very basic knowledge in your niche atleast you will not find yousell jobless after 4 years no matter how less salary they offer you, sometimes even lesser than a chaiwalaa. :)

Everything requires money

Likes

Nothing everything is bad out their not so much skilled teacher hardly they have frew .
The punctuality which they dont follow always late.
Providing the Coursera license which is free pf cost

Dislikes

Security guard is rude and with zero mentality and sense.
They die for only Money and Money . No money no studies
Not so much advanced classrooms and fields

As the technology is advancing rapidly so i choose byech in CST but the faculty and the portion they covered like having zero sense in every sem altering new new topics not constant on same topic . They are charging 6 lakhs which is not at all upto mark .

My Graduation experience from UEM,Kolkata

Dislikes

Too much crowded college compared to their classroom sizes
Placement company like wipro didn’t mail us back after 2 rounds, and college and no answer, Accenture closed their recruitment drive midway from our college.

Placement Experience:

From 6 semester students become eligible for placement but if not trained individually by doing courses from coursera or YouTube then one cannot crack exams. College forces everyone to do a course from coursera every semester in order to get a job. And some companies like Accenture stoped hiring mid way, and Wipro did not reply after 2nd round only releasing the shortlisted student list for interview, and no interview were scheduled few companies like LT midtree and cognizant DN program gave placement opportunities with LT mindtree hiring 25-30 students and DN program being the only mass hiring opportunity . The average package being 4.5-4lpa only. Till now i did not get any reply of rejection or selection process mail from cognizant and wipro, and college has no answers. Now i have to bridge my skills after college according to company to get a job.

The infrastructure of this college is totally very welly designed and I liked it
Library one of the best thing of this college which is beautifully designed

Dislikes

Some faculty is too much to handle they are very bad at students
The timings, the holidays are too much less than any other colleges

My college has avarage placement rates not too high or not too low. But yes if you have the ability to make more scores and get the best placements then you can. The placement scenario is totally depends on the students how they study.

Why am I getting so negative reviews about UEM Kolkata?

UEM Kolkata has been the highlight of negative views lately and here are the reasons:

It is fairly new and hasn’t reached any milestone yet which makes it unreliable according to the standards set in society. People don’t trust newly established private universities.
The entrance exam of UEM Kolkata is very easy and people pass it without any problem.
UEM Kolkata is new and therefore has no accomplishments and therefore uses the records of UEM Jaipur which makes parents skeptical.
The Institute has a very strict environment and therefore comes in the way of students who want to enjoy their college life. These students somehow convince their parents that the Institute is not good for them.
UEM Kolkata had issues with UGC(University Grants Commission) and is not recognized by the government and therefore it creates doubts about the degree among students.

These are some of the reasons why some students will be skeptical about joining UEM Kolkata. Talk to the students presently studying there as they can only provide you with the exact information. Try visiting the institute beforehand and decide for yourself.
