Syllabus structure is a bit old school. Like too many things to finish it in less that 6 months.

Fees and Financial Aid:

I am persuing M.A in English Literature and this degree course includes semester fees of 2000/- and the exam fees is somewhere around 750/-. The fees structure is very minimal that actually gives wisdom to scholar from around the globe to pursue their higher studies from such a heritage. The professors are equally jewels with treasures of knowledge and experience. Every class is worth it. Scholarship like Swami Vivekananda Scholarship and Kanyashree Scholarship are also available to support students.

Calcutta University for English literature

They finish a semester in 3 months. We don't get enough time to study thoroughly.

The course fees was pretty nominal. Admission fees was around Rs1000. Each sem you have to pay exam fees which was Rs150 for first three sems, and Rs180 for the 4th sem. We also had to pay monthly fees that would be taken all together of 4-6 months at once. Our last year's fees was total Rs1244. Tuition fees Rs1200, rest are game fees library fees etc. Whatever you have to pay, it never crosses Rs.1500. I don't think fees were any lesser for reserved category students. One think to mention, all payments are taken through SBI collect portal, even if it's Rs1. For the scholarship part, you have your Swami Vivekananda or K3 scholarship, 24k each year of you complete without backlogs. Reserved category students also have their own scholarship. There also a single girl child scholarship, which you could aplly to if you're the only child of your parents and you're a girl. But you can only apply for one.

I also liked the exposure which the syllabus of English Literature provides. It really becomes helpful if you are serious about sitting for NET. Significantly helps students who are interested to sit and crack NET

Fees remain the same for all as per as I am aware. °There isn't any placement opportunities for literature students. We really need to work for our own. °There are few scholarships given to meritorious students coming from under-previledged background.

The course fee was budget-friendly. It was around INR 8,000; however, it might change. I didn't apply for a scholarship or financial assistance. However, there was no provision for job placement or internship opportunities back then.

A memorable journey

The fee hike policy was 1200 per year and the total fees of the course were 2200 rupees. The fees need to be provided before the exam. There was no scholarship, and no campus procedure was available on campus.

The Heritage of Knowledge - University of Calcutta.

Since it was a government-aided university, fees were pretty low. And, in the third semester, Our University decided to wave off the fees because of the pandemic. My university doesn't offer any scholarships but they do accept govt. aided scholarship programmes and the process was pretty easy and hassle-free

Experience of a Course.

The cost of the study is decent and some more benefits given here is that you could give your course fees in three or four installments so it is easy for those students who are not from a rich family. A scholarship program is also available here.

My experience about a course.

The fee structure is quite good. You needed not to give all the money at once. You can take the advantage of three or four installments if you want. That's quite good for the ones who are not capable of giving all the money once. There is also a scholarship program available which is equally good for the students.

MA English from Calcutta University

Yes. Calcutta university has scholarship opportunities for its students. There are a few of them. 1) for meritorious students who secured the highest ranks in examinations. 2) to help students with weak financial background. 3) the state government's prospects of scholarship. Both the eligibility criteria and application process were very similar. If you are seeking scholarship based on merit, you will have to produce your marksheet proving the same and get the departmental HOD to review your claims. And if you want scholarship for being economically weaker, you will have to provide your family's income certificate proving that their average yearly income is less than 1lac. The average sum for merit scholarship falls between 8000-10000 for a semester and for the economic disability, 3000-3500 in a month.
