Course Curriculum Overview

5

The university is considered as one of the best choice for scholars who wants to get knowledge from the best of the best professors and lecturers out there. The professors use even extra classes as much as students need to get them properly ready for the semester exams. They do take internal exams around 1 month before the main exam. It holds 10 point that is texted through MCQ. While another 10 marks is given as per the attendance percentage.

Internships Opportunities

5

Currently the university is starting to provide internship opportunities for students persuing their higher studies. Companies like Accenture, TATA, and Wipro and Capgemini has shown interest in hiring talented individuals from our university. So the progress is good.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am persuing M.A in English Literature and this degree course includes semester fees of 2000/- and the exam fees is somewhere around 750/-. The fees structure is very minimal that actually gives wisdom to scholar from around the globe to pursue their higher studies from such a heritage. The professors are equally jewels with treasures of knowledge and experience. Every class is worth it. Scholarship like Swami Vivekananda Scholarship and Kanyashree Scholarship are also available to support students.

Campus Life

5

For the whole year multiple fests and events take place in this university. There is also strong influence of union and senior support groups. There are Class Representatives in every class and since there are so many students coming from different colleges around the state and huge in number. The faculties are provided with mikes and proper sound system arrangements to make their classrooms experience the best audible and teacher student learning system.

Admission

I applied to other colleges that falls under this university only. Also I applied to Jadavpur University but got a rejection due to low score in the admission test and also applied to colleges like Bethune,Lady Brabourne, Loreto and Basanti Devi College. I was from the SC quota so my elegibility required 65% atleast. For general it didn't go beyond 79%. But I already got selected to the main campus on the counseling session.

Faculty

5

There are around 7-8 professors to provide mentorship to around 180 no.of students in each class. There are around 2 classroom. Every professor has their own way of teaching so some are better and taken easily. But some can't adjust with us. Like the HOD. As per my degree which is of 2 years, there are 4 semesters and its exams are held every 6 months. The results are out when the next semester exam ends. If there is a backlog you can obviously give supply paper for next 2-3 years attempt. The checking is very strict and ample no.of students get a supply in more that one paper.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our curriculum was set according to the need of present literary world, theories were taught practically it was if applying every little lesson to real life. Every single text were selected on the basis of ongoing trends of literary world, each professor had excellent proficiency and competence of what he or she was teaching. Mostly whatever literature offered, we were taught to question and challenge the idea than passively accept it, therefore it is an eye opening journey than mere course. I have learned to become liberal to other people's idea as well as confident about my own perspectives too. My world view may not matched with my classmates but these kind of diversity taught me to be resilient and active. At first it felt difficult but as soon one gets acquainted with various ideas and philosophies one xan easily perform well in exam especially when on has good command over language.

The teachers are fabulous here but need to improve in research and writing skills, professional development etc. Exam level is moderate and the 1st semester and exam timing will be uploaded in website few months before .

Remarks:

Every university has its positive and negative factors that guide is notions in the long run. The sprawling camus is well decorated. The E.M bower tower, near sinthi more is the main campus of the university. The university offers many facilities to the students and it maintains the decor of the campus with high seriousness. However because of it's strict rule related attendance percentage, the students often miss out from major internship opportunities. Every department has its own story to tell, both positive and negative.
