Course Curriculum Overview

5

Our curriculum was set according to the need of present literary world, theories were taught practically it was if applying every little lesson to real life. Every single text were selected on the basis of ongoing trends of literary world, each professor had excellent proficiency and competence of what he or she was teaching. Mostly whatever literature offered, we were taught to question and challenge the idea than passively accept it, therefore it is an eye opening journey than mere course. I have learned to become liberal to other people's idea as well as confident about my own perspectives too. My world view may not matched with my classmates but these kind of diversity taught me to be resilient and active. At first it felt difficult but as soon one gets acquainted with various ideas and philosophies one xan easily perform well in exam especially when on has good command over language.

Fees and Financial Aid

Monthly was ?100 for tuition and for hostel ?1450, unless you take extra meal it would increase accordly. Fees were paid yearly and examination fee was around ?1200 every semester. Registration and admission was done with ?4500 and ?5000.

Campus Life

5

We had different clubs but nobody insisted on joining it depend upon individuals to get involved or not. There is always an active social protest that goes on like everyday about injustice faced by different people, justice is what they seek until recieved. I never feared for unjust treatment because I would always get back of those people who believed in equality. Since I am from hilly area , in streets people would call me 'momo' and 'chinki' that was pretty hurtful but beside that campus was my safe heaven except for few minor prejudices about nepali people. Most of my friends were interested where I live in. I was interested in table tennis so I was a part of TT group. Everybody seemed calm and cool with me being there, one reason was that it was crowded with men and sometimes only female person would be me but it never felt big of a deal because badminton court room would alwayd be filled with women than men. Campus surroundings look serene during evening time.

Hostel Facilities

5

They would give fish and egg alternatively monday-Sat, though secondary curry used to taste like blunt veggies. I never really liked fish because of its smell. The best part was sunday meal, I would die for it. We would get pulao and chilli chicken, and sometimes Korma and bhaat with sweets. Sunday used to be funday. Menu were mostly made by students themselves checking the ability of cooks present in the kitchen. Chart were made 2 weeks prior from making. The locality was full of ruch people driving porsche and lamborghini so I never really fit outside my hostel.

Admission

I only applied to one specific college and I got accepted. It was my choice to go for a better college. We were given entrance test wherr if one performed well a board of members sit and does the admission process. Cut off was not very high since it was based on eligibility based assessment. The top selected students were provided admission.

Faculty

5

Around 3:1, faculties are approachable in fact we used to have conversation after the classes about the topic she/he lectured and even clarify the doubts. The faculty I did not adore much were the aged ones who took extra classes. The best faculties were- Purna Banerjee Ma'm, Anirban Ray sir, Monirul Islam Sir and few others. There were four semester in total and very few failed. It is still relevant to my work and life.

Night Life

5

I went gym for almost a month and played TT for weeks only because my most of the time would spent in the campus itself. Outside our hostel there is a food court it was very pleasant to be there in the evening and have snacks. We had subways, sharma tea, Rose, Bujuri Manna, icecream parlour, and several resturant that served excellent food. Though for a student it felt costly but these places were beautiful to soend time. Sweet shop is my favourite though, every day I would go out with my friends just to have sweets. These places are just before the hostel and on the left side there is a huge park, where the community would bring different celebs during festivals. I got to witness Abhijit, Sonu Nigam, late KK etc from my hostel rooftop. A t night me and my friends would walk around he park for some solace since I was far from home, I missed it alot.

Placement Experience:

Most of the placements that took place at least for the literature departments ended up with people joining educational institutes and NGOs. Very few joined corporate enterprises like Accenture. But it does provide almost a 5 LPA, if well placed. It is academically rigorous, therefore academics are weighed more than industry.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for applying for internships after the 3rd semester, and students can apply for placements only after 4th semester. Companies like Ericsson, Ernst and Young, JPMG makes visits our department for mostly analyst roles for economic and fundamental trading decisions. The highest offer made was 45LPA while the average is 7.5LPA. The median pakage is 8LPA. Almost 90% students secure placements after completing their degree since the Training and placement cell is pretty proactive in securing good company visits. I plan for investing and analyst roles in banking companies. I would sit for placements hoping for the same.
