Remarks

Positive remarks are that its study process is very good, teachers are friendly and helpful... Seniors behave well to the students... College extra caricular activities are also pretty good.. Negetive remark is that it is far from urban areas.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is tough but interesting... It is a 3 years degree honours course... First year we have to go through 200 marks then 300 in 2nd year and 300 in 3rd year. The course was of 800 marks of 8 papers.

Placement Experience

No. There are no placement or job opportunity for students. Though the teachers guide us for various jobs and examinations... Hopefully the placement may be started within 10 years I think. Lets hope the best.

College Events

There are lot of seminar events, sports events , game events , cultural events, educational tours, scientific events, art seminar, and many more educational activities for the benefit of students......

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is neither feasible nor expensive... We have to pay 20000 per year for arts faculty and 25000 per year for science faculty... And I think this is decent though it can be discounted.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many government and non government institutions which provide scholarships for students... Government like vivekananda scholarship, netaji scholarship etc and many private scholarships are also available.

Campus Life

The extra caricular activities are pretty good actually.... Our college organize sports events, seminars every 2-3 months. Also there are decent quality of laboratories for the science faculty and also for arts.

Alumni/Alumna

Yeah they are helpful and very good... We got a lot of help and contribution from them. They are always ready to help the students both financially and educationally... This makes the college unique...

Faculty

Good faculty... Though the faculty of science needs improvement... But as a rural college, the development is slower due to financial difficulties. Faculty of arts is as good as any of the urban colleges.

I want to go out of west bengal and study. And I also want to experience how to live in hostel and how the hostel Life is. That's why I go there. All courses curriculum and teaching methods are already very good. Exam is not so hard.

Placement Experience:

Most of the placements that took place at least for the literature departments ended up with people joining educational institutes and NGOs. Very few joined corporate enterprises like Accenture. But it does provide almost a 5 LPA, if well placed. It is academically rigorous, therefore academics are weighed more than industry.

The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for applying for internships after the 3rd semester, and students can apply for placements only after 4th semester. Companies like Ericsson, Ernst and Young, JPMG makes visits our department for mostly analyst roles for economic and fundamental trading decisions. The highest offer made was 45LPA while the average is 7.5LPA. The median pakage is 8LPA. Almost 90% students secure placements after completing their degree since the Training and placement cell is pretty proactive in securing good company visits. I plan for investing and analyst roles in banking companies. I would sit for placements hoping for the same.

Very good college

Firstly fill up the application for the college entrance exam. Then college releases the entrance exam date. After that when you complete exam the college releases a merit list according to how much sit is available and how many marks you have for this particular subject preference. After that college conducts a counseling process on various dates according to the subject wise. When you complete the counselling process then you are eligible for admission. When you finally go to the college for admission the college asks you for your entire document like the last marksheet, addhar card, mp admit card.
