Nit trichy has an excellent placement record with a large number of students placed in to top companies every year, the institute's has strong industry connection and career development program
Their way of teaching is really good and impressive, they make concepts easy to understand.
You get a scholarship...if you have some reservations but on the contrary, the college set is not that costly compared to other colleges and the roi is good here, you'll get placed in a nice company in the end anyways

Dislikes

The wifi service is very poor in the hostel and even mobile network is bad due to its remote location.
Room is spacious but the hostel maintainance is so bad as compared to the college maintenance.
This college is very old. so infrastructures are not that good. wifi facility is very poor

The placements are very good. There are lots of opportunities for students to grab. Many big tech MNCs like Google, Microsoft, Oracle etc visit the college for internships and full-time jobs. The highest package of this year is 60lac per annum.

All the gorgeous fests and programs that happened
Huge support from senior and alumni side.
Free and safe environment, friendly people.

Dislikes

A bit of patriarchy in few places due to more security for girls
Not great washrooms and water facilities
First year hostels are worse compared to other years

Placement Experience:

Internships start from 4th and 5th sem, and placements start from 7th and 8th sem. All big chemical enginerring companies come for placements and the average is quite higher compared to other colleges with 13 lpa. Yhe students also pursue masters after this course. The highest was 80lpa. Placement is at 95% I plan on getting placed in 7th sem.

A brief overview of NITT

Likes

The campus life has definitely been the biggest plus point in the college. The campus is one of the largest with 800 acres so it is very spacious and there are a lot of trees making it cooler and beautiful. Evening walks are the best.
The diversity in the students that come to the college is remarkable. I have interacted with people of different ethnicities and cultures. This has helped me improve my social interaction. NITT also provides amenities to celebrate festivals of others
The sports facilities are remarkable for the fees we provide. There is one large sports centre with a basketball court, volleyball court, table tennis, one large cricket and football ground a swimming pool and a fully equipped gym for boys and girls.

Dislikes

The administration is extremely slow and sometimes incompetent hence a lot of work which includes, Hostel, Wifi, Security and other administrative related work. When asked regarding general issues such as late details of fees they will not care.
Hostels are poorly managed. Facilities such as water and WIFI regularly face issues. Estate management is very incompetent and are lazy to do any sort of work. They are also hostile towards students. WIFI is essentially zero and it becomes difficult.
Very few professors are actually qualified enough to teach and most of the other professors do not teach properly. Most of them have difficulty speaking fluent English, some of them do not entertain doubts and most rush with the portions.

Placement Experience:

NITT placements varies from branch to branch. In our 5th semester we prepare for internship which we are supposed to do between 6th and 7th semester. Around 10-20 students out of 140 students get internships from the college. Students who perform well in the internships have the opportunity to get PPO that is pre placement offer from the company the intern in. Essentially from 6th semester we can recieve placements however official placement season begins from 7th semester to 8th semester. Around 65% of 140 students recieve placements from college. Typically for Mechanical engineering companies such as, Bajaj, TATA Steel, Boeing, Rolls Royce, Ford, Mercedes, Exxon Mobile come for placements with the highest package being 30 LPA. Apart from mechanical companies such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, City Corp and Oracle etc come for placements with the highest being 65 LPA. My plans after btech is both off and on campus placement and writing GATE or ICRB exam for ISRO and HAL or other PSUs or prepare for masters abroad.

A Review on Nit Trichy

Lots of research opportunities are provided for the students there is good lab and Research facilities new upgrades are made to the department buildings every year in order to provide top notch education to the students of nit trichy.
The campus has a shopping complex at provides basic necessity for students for their everyday life
The campus has heater is all around that provides students with nutrition and good snacks

Dislikes

The hostels can be improve as the buildings are old and ancient
The teaching system requires the students to already know the subject they are studying
Hostels are kept for from the classrooms which makes it difficult for students

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements in their 5th semester itself as they are given placement training programmes and are made to go through multiple assessments periodically to train the students for internships as well.companies that visit are BNY, ORACLE, MICROSOFT, GOOGLE, NVIDIA, TATA STEEL, ONGC, MAHINDRA, PNG, ITC, VERIZON and many more, the highest to lowest package will be around 50LPA TO 8LPA, the percentage of students getting placed is around 92%.

Why NITT should be your first choice after doing well in mains

Likes

Good infrastructure and facilities required for studies and sports
Good senior junior relationships that guides students also most of the things in college are student run so that helps both senior junior bonding and skillsets
Good club culture with facilities resources and guidance and active pursuit of innovation from the side of both admin and students

Dislikes

Hostels may not be the best but they are good , just regular hostel issues
Mess food is not consistently good but not as bad as some may describe
The location is slightly rural so you may not have the fun of studying in a city

Placement Experience:

So nitt is known as a placement hub and it does do a good job in that aspect , students can get ppos from 4 th year start and can sit for placements as well from 4 th year. Many many companies visit and the placements are above 90 percent for circuital branches so difficult to tell the numbers . Highest from what I ve heard can go up to 50 ish and average is around 18 24 for circuital branches . My plans are to pursue post grad

LOOK THE CURRICULUM WHICH WE STUDY IN FIRST TWO YEARS WILL NOT BE RELEVANT TO INDUSTRY AND LAST TWO YEARS, WE GET TO LEARN MANY INDUSTRY RELATED APPLICATION BUT IT WILL NOT BE SUFFICIENT, WE HAVE TO OURSELVES LEARN IT. SO, DON'T DEPEND ON COLLEGE FOR THAT. I THINK COLLEGE SHOULD REMOVE IRRELEVANT TOPICS IN 1st AND 2nd YEAR CURRICULUM.

only tamil people can survive outside of the campus whilgoing somewhere

Dislikes

Curfew for girls. This is the thing i think that my college is backdated or old fashioned .
Wifi in hostel is not upto the standard which also i donot like that much.
Old infrastructure is also a second point which i dislike in some parts of this college

Placement Experience:

Placement scenerio is of very much high standard here. And average package of 19.3lpa for eee here. And good companies like google,amazon and others come for software too here so overall it can be said that this college placement scenerio is very much good till now.

NITT college life experience

Admin roles, personally i was part of students council through which i got so much exposure dealing with all aspects of managements exist in NITT, it is a very good learning experience
clubs, I am part and head of dance troupe, we attended many competitions on is HHI, we even got selected to represent to INDIA in HHI finals in USA for 2024, arizona
Academics, faculty are really friendly and encouraging , infrastructure

Dislikes

not speeding up the processes, many signs need for everything being a central govt college
not too updation in curriculum with current growing speed of technology
restrictions on girls could be relaxed, not so bad, but still...

Placement Experience:

students in 5th and 6th semster get to sit for internship companies, students in final are eligible to sit for placements usually amazon, google, l&t, slb, etc visit and around 700 offers will be recieved on an avg these can vary every year, so once can see internet for better accuracy statistics is not yet released but it is said to be 53LPA to be the highest my plans are to write gate and try for psus

vast and spatial infrastructures and facilities
experienced faculty and availability of shops, market ,hospital inside the campus itself

Dislikes

the climate over here is very hot and humid
there are no proper water facility in some hostels

Students can become eligible in their 8th semester which is also called PPO (Pre Placement Offer) where the number of students getting placed are very low or the students can get their placements in their 10th semester. L&T, Sanjaypuri architects, Zaha Hdid architects are the few companies that I know. In general there are 10-20 offers made. The highest package offered is 18LPA and average is 5.5LPA as per the latest data. 78-85 percent students get placed and the other 15 percent opt for further studies. Currently I'm not sure with my plan but I may do master degree.

NIT Trichy is indeed one of the best engineering colleges in India, the institution that changed my life. While every NIT has its own unique strengths and weaknesses, NIT Trichy has a distinctive competitive ambiance. Life here is pretty fast-paced and apart from academics, NIT Trichy also has an equal balance of extracurricular activities. There are more than 50 student-driven clubs that encourage the active participation of students. These clubs instill a sense of equality among the students irrespective of their academic profiles. NIT Trichy gives you the opportunity to pursue your passions boldly.

The climate here is a bit unbearable and the location is kind of remote. You will find it difficult to adjust here in the initial months but once you have adapted yourself to the ambiance here, the real fun starts.

Overall, as an NIT Trichy student, you will learn to socialize, handle tea life problems and fulfill your goals. Here, you alone fuel your passions!

I am currently studying ECE at NIT Trichy. So far, I’ve had an amazing experience. During the first two years, you will deal with Core Electronics. In the first year, every branch studies the same subjects to brush up on concepts learned in senior classes at school. The next two years deal with the Communication part. You will get to choose electives from various options like image processing, etc.

All the branches are equally good and each offers ample opportunities in terms of scholarships. The ECE branch has a very good reputation and the faculty is quite good. Some teachers can even teach more than two subjects with subjects ranging from Digital Electronics to Signal Processing and Data Structures (elective). NIT Trichy follows a Relative Grading System (RG).

Thus, the NIT Trichy ECE branch is a great choice.
