NIT TRICHY

All courses except graphics are bery comprehensive, byt the profs provide you with materials that are needed to study for the exams. Chemical engineering is a versatile field through which you can actually go to your desired field. I would suggest a more practical way in explajning things than just using an imaginative mind. Exams comes once in two months, along with one assignment. If you prepare, they are pretty easy to crack.

As a fisrt year, i got internship opportunities from iits. Nothing much. But the clubs that you join in the 2nd sem will help you a lot with internships. Chemical engineering is a welcome field in middle east and japan.

Internships start from 4th and 5th sem, and placements start from 7th and 8th sem. All big chemical enginerring companies come for placements and the average is quite higher compared to other colleges with 13 lpa. Yhe students also pursue masters after this course. The highest was 80lpa. Placement is at 95% I plan on getting placed in 7th sem.

Tuition fees first year: 1,17,500 Hostel fees: 53,000 Caution fees: around 2000 Lab and procession fees: around 8000 (This is for general as I am general) We are provided with merit cum need scholarships from both alumni side and other non profit organisations. It is based on our 12th grades and category and income of parents.

It is counted over 1 lakh books in nitt library. First year chem classroom is ac, and mic occupied along with projectors. All sports have contingent teams and practices every evening and early morning. Also a two week practice is dedicated for sportsfete. It has gyms, all kind of grounds, music and dance troupes. You can find every kind of social and technical club in nit trichy. Along with linguistic clubs too. These help in placements and passing free time, along with increasing your intellect at a very high level.

Each student gets 1 table, chair, bed, cupboard, fan and light. Plus extra spaces for luggages. Meal quality is okayish, not bad. Spicy eaters may not like here. There is both north indian and south indian choices for mess. Hostel is quite affordable in the middle class background. The hostel registration is done online, along with the college registration.

I appiled to all nits and iits. But i settled with nit trichy because of its huge alumni and support system linked with all the well known colleges in tamilnadu. It is best in providing many resources needed. You get help from each nook and corner in this campus. Clearance of jee main with a percentile higher than 99 will give you a fixed seat in nit trichy. Admission went as smooth as possible.

Faculty to student ratio is 5. Each student gets a senior mentor and a faculty mentor who helps in all the issues mentally and financially. They are very approachable and understanding. Except a few profs who have better interests in mind. For chem engg., there are 2 class tests, one assignment and one final per sem per subject. No averaging of grades, all inputs directly counted to the finals. The course is actually pretty relevant to what we are gonna work with in the future.
