Likes
- Infrastructure is good, with new and good design buildings. Sports complex is there where students can play numerous sports like badminton,tennis,basketball,etc.Gym facility is also there.
- Professors are helpful and cooperative, they clear all our doubts related to academics. Student council is there which is run by students and NITT has students supremacy there ,all the majority work is dine by students here
- Placement is good for our batch, highest package for 2023 production engineering branch was 38LPA,while average was 14 LPA.Various companies came for recruitment including Google,microsoft,Amazon,and many more.Over 220+ companies came for hiring
Dislikes
- I don't like Home state reservation.This affects the surrounding ,major South Indian people sticks to their groups and does not communicate with North Indians.
- Hostels are old ,and there is not any facility of washing machine, while other NIT colleges have this facility.
- Lack of lights at the NSO main ground,I find difficulty in running there at night.
Course Curriculum Overview
Production engineering course at nit trichy is considered to be of high quality,with a strong focus on practical application,well equipped labs,a good industry-oriented curriculum,and a high pacement rate.All these thing enhance me decision on taking this course.The course covers advanced manufacturing technologies like CNC machining ,robotics ,CIM,and operations Management, preparing students for real world industry challenges.
Internships Opportunities
Many students pursue internships in industries related to their engineering disciplines such as mehanical ,civil,electrical and electronics companies. A significant number of students opt for internships in major IT companies like TCS,Infosys, Wipro, and startups focusing in software development ,data science and artificial intelligence. Some students gain internships with consulting firms like Deolitte, Accenture , where they work on business strategies and solutions. Some students also pursue internships abroad , often through university tie-ups or independent applications.
Placement Experience
At the starting of their 4th year students start for applying for placements. Placements are good for my college,last year highest package was 52 LPA while almost 90-95 percent students gets placed while others went for higher studies.In production brach 90 percent students gets placed and average package was around 14 LPA while highest was 38 LPA. around 220 companies visit here including Google, microsoft, Amazon , Goldman Sachs, and many more top companies.
Fees and Financial Aid
institute tution fee for each semester is Rs.62500 ,while other fee for each year is 28000.Students whose family is less than 1 LPA receive tution fee remission,while those of family income between 1-5 LPA will get 2/3 of tution fee remission. Hostel and mess fee is 46000 for each semester. various institute as well as government scholarships is given to students like NSP,ONGC,RECALL,etc
Campus Life
Institute hosts annual festivals like Festember(cultural fest) and pragyan (technicl fest),which attracts participation of students from varios students.Sportsfete (annual sports fest) is organised with numerous events like cricket ,basketball, football, athletics, swimming ,etc. Library is equipped with 20000+ book and journals,various stacks are there for various departments. Various Clubs are there ,including Spider and delta which are the software and applcation development club of nit trichy.Sigma is Business club here, and many other clubs.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels typically offers both single and double occupancy rooms, with basic furniture like beds, study tables and chairs. Some hostels may have common areas for socializing. Basic amenities include Wifi acces, and common rooms. Each rooms has its own wifi connection with speed ranging almost 600 mbps. NIT Trichy has seversl messes , offering a variety of culinary options. Some messes specialize in north indian food, while other serve south indian dishes, with options for regional cuisines like Andhra and Kerala. Students typically needs to register online to access mes facility. Hostels are old and lack laundry facilities like washing machines , and some hostels become floody during rains.
Admission
NIT Trichy is one of the top ten enginering colleges in India with bright minds of the country.Placements are good here and production is a chill course and people in this branch gets many time to explore other things like coding, management and other extracurricular activities. Admissions are based on jee mains ranks and average cutoff is around 98.5 percentile for general students.
Faculty
Faculty is to student ratio is good , there are total of 300+ professors in our college with high qualifications .Faculties are helpful and any students can approach them when needed .In each semster 2 CTs and 1 endsem are taken in which each CT has 20 percent weightage while endsem has 50 percent weightage. almost all students manage to pass the semster exams .Production engineering course curriculum comprises of manufacturing technology and Supply chain management which is relevant from industry point of view.
Night Life
1st year boys are not allowed to stay outside hostels after 10 pm, while all girl stuents have curfew from 9 pm. Various canteens are there including cafe and night canteen. Various hangout spots are present like stone benches and MIG which is also the couple point of NIT Trichy. Market is there where students can buy basic necessities.Mobile and cycle repairing shop is also present in the campus.Students are not allowed to went outside the campus with their cycles.
