Life on LPU

Likes

The college campus is huge and you will get all type of facilities inside the college itself.
How the faculties in the college is so helpful and well educated and help the student in all possible ways.
The college life out here is amazing and you will make a lot of friends with different culture.

Dislikes

I have the college is ready huge and most of the places are of concrete which cause a high temperature in summer.
Sometime you me feel hectic as the schedule of the classes is so tense and their number of classes you have to conduct and also follow 75% attendance compulsory.
The security guards in the college is so rude and they talk to you very loudly and misuse there rights

Placement Experience:

Replacement faculties and staffs are very helpful they all waste dry and communicate with you in all possible ways and conduct different type of different classes which help the student to secure a good placement with a good package and the also conductor classes according to different compounds requirements. Which help the student to secure a good package.

There was too emphasis on theoretical knowledge.
Practical exposure and hands on skill building in the latest tech tools was limited.

Placement Experience:

The Placements at Lovely Professional University(LPU) are descent overall, especially for undergraduate program like B.Tech. But for for the Masters students the placements are not good, they focus on research work only.

Placement in our college is shown to be 100 percent, but I think the academics of this college are so hard and strong to pass that most of the children do not get to sit in the placement, so maintaining the cgpa is most important

Lpu has one of the best infrastructure among private universities in India. The campus is massive and modern with high tech labs smart classrooms innovation studios and a huge library.
The university attracts students from across india and over 50 countries.This creates a diverse and vibrant enviroment. Cultural festivals like YouthVibe
LPUs placement cell offers strong support from the second year onward. Pre-placement training mock interviews, and aptitude classes are regular.Companices like Cognizant infoys,Amazon and Capgemini visit . Top students get package above 10 LPA

Dislikes

The tution fee is on the higher side. Even With schlorship like LPUNEST many students feel the burden. Additional charges for supplies.
While some professors are experienced and supportive other lack clarity or practical knowledge. Teaching quality depends on the individual faculty.
Due to the large student intake some cources and hostel blocks feel overcrowded. this sometimes reduces personal attention during classes

There are many cultural activities which are held daily
Availability of each and every necessity inside the campus
Placement opportunities that are available

Dislikes

Crowd- There are about 35000+ students studying in a single campus.
Hectic schedules- 9 to 5 classes can make your day really hectic

Placement Experience:

There exists a dedicated training and placemnet cell for each and every department. almost every day campus drives are held. Tech giants like amazon, BOSCH have visited LPU. 90% of students at LPU got placed in their final years.

Is Lovely University really Lovely

Likes

The infrastructure is best you can get here . The quality education is good . They provide well education
They give opportunity time to time like hackathon, pateint idea
They encouraged students to take exams like neptel in university

The fee is quite high according to other collage
They not provide non veg in campus . We have to go out to eat it .
They charge unnecessary for hostel things at the end of semester

The big campus of college with multiple field of education and parks and canteen
College management with staff and student is commendable
The teching staff os average but supportive

Some faculty members they often try to rush the syllabus
Time duration of semesters it is said to be of 6 months but generally ends in 3 months

At LPU ,stuswnts became eligible for campus placement from 6th semester onwars.Top companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant, WIpro regularly visit the campus.The average package of Btech Cse is Aroung 8 to 10 lakhs,depending upon the skillst.around 80 % of the students are placed every year.After my degree my plan is to work in the industry.

Weather in Punjab is too hot in summers and too cold in winters

All about LPU

Likes

The infrastructure is amazing, one of India’s largest campuses with advanced facilities.
The diversity is heartwarming, students from all indian states and international students too.
The placement opportunities are pretty good .

Dislikes

Tight attendance policy is so tiring as there are 5 marks for attendance 90+and decrease simultaneously.
Tuition fees is high without scholarship it is very difficult to continue.
Too much population is there which also have some disadvantages.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to do engineering in computer science that why I had chosen that. Course curriculum is updated and job focused. It covers both theory and practical skills.Various subjects are there like for coding, communication and project experience too which is helpful for jobs but some topics can feel too general and packed.

I completed BTech CSE from LPU back in 2016. You might say that LPU has changed since then, but I am still in touch with my juniors and here is my experience:

Placements: More than 550+ MNCs and startups visit the LPU campus for placement. In recent news, Yasir M., student of LPU, grabbed an offer of INR 3 crore in Germany. The highest CTC offered for the engineering programs at LPU is INR 42 LPA.
Scholarships: People might think LPU is pricey since it is a private colleges, but LPU provides scholarships to bright students with good academic records, good track record in sports, or extracurricular activities. LPU also helps students in the education loan facility.
Research: In terms of research, Stanford University has ranked almost 13 LPU faculty members amongst the top 2% of scientists in the world.
Faculty: The faculty members are from top institutes like IITs, NITs, IIMs, and top-ranked universities globally.

I am a BTech Mechanical graduate from LPU. Here is an honest review on the placement scenario at LPU (in engineering)-

The placement scenario is poor for Civil, Mechanical and Electrical. Few companies visit these departments for placements, and hire a maximum of 5-10 students in total. But if someone knows basic coding, they can sit for IT placements.

Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, etc. visit the CSE/IT departments for mass hiring. Very few core companies visit the ECE department for recruitments, so the students rely on IT companies. A mere 40/50 out of 1000 ECE students get hired by an Electronics company from the campus. The IT companies mass hire students at a CTC of around 3.5 LPA.

This is the engineering placement scenario at LPU.

Being a graduate from LPU, I found the campus life quite joyful as everyone in the university is supportive. I liked the following things about the University:

LPU's campus can accommodate its many students, with classes divided into manageable sizes for effective teaching.

LPU maintains a strict anti-ragging policy and provides a secure environment with extensive CCTV surveillance.
