Since I had planned to do engineering after 12th, so the best option in India was the IITs, and Bombay is the best in terms of opportunities and exposure. So I ended up choosing this college. The department of Chemical Engineering wasn't much of my choice or preference.
Steps to get admission in the college:
JEE Mains
JEE Advanced
In general, the college has good management and supporting system however at some places students do have to struggle a bit. Overall it's one of the best colleges in India and deserves to get premium status.
The positive thing about the college is that it promotes extra activities along with education. People live in free surroundings which helps in the overall development of the students. Education is the best part of the IIT which is why it is ranked among the top 100 in the world. I don't think there are anything negatives but living and mess facilities could be improved.
No negative remarks as it's the best institution in the country and has proven it's mettle to the world that it has produced some big industry leaders who are right now leading the world and will lead this world to new heights and make their college proud
It is one of the best colleges in the country. But the professors are not very good at teaching. They are more concerned about their research than about the students learning. But overall people are very helpful. You have a tennis court, badminton court, indoor volleyball court, a hill and two lakes for complete entertainment. And not to forget the fastest internet speed in the country.
The living conditions need to be improved, apart from that it really is the best institute in the country. Most of the professors are interested in research and help promote the same. There are various tech teams you can join and contribute to the tech world.
I got admission from my rank in jee advanced. The admission process was done by J.O.S.A.A. (Joint seat allocation authority). My rank was 1290 in jee advanced and due to this, I got admission in engineering physics to the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
The only way to be an IIT Bombay Undergraduate is to ace the IIT-JEE Advanced exam which is held every year. It is preceded by the JEE Mains exam which is to screen out the candidates for the Advanced exam. It is really tough exam given the conditions and time crunch. It's somewhat one of the world's toughest exams. I prepared for the exam for about two years with my school textbooks and got a decent rank info 1722 in advanced and 1776 in main, and easily got the branch I am in.
College is one of the best in the country. But a lot of pressure when it comes to academics. But students with a passion for their subject have a lot of opportunity in this college. The best part of this college is the attention from the outside world.
