Remarks

College management is a bit slow since it's government but other than that I had my best time in the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum was good but the teaching style was not. The exam structure is totally dependent on professors. There might be 2 exams - midterm and end-term but in most of the cases, there are at least 4 exams- 2 quizzes and 1 midterm and 1 end term. The technical knowledge I gained has not been helping me much but the other skills like time management and decision-making skills are for a lifetime.

Placement Experience

5

Again, you can't find a better placement anywhere in India than IIT Bombay. Also, the internship offers are just great. The best thing is the number of offers is very good.

College Events

5

Main events: Mood Indigo- Asia's largest Cultural Festival Techfest- Asia's largest Technical Festival Aavahan- College Sports fest Inter IIT Sports - Sports championship between IITs Inter IIT Cult - Cultural Championship between IITs Inter IIT Tech- Technical championship between IITs E-Summit- Entrepreneurship Summit Abhyuday- Social Festival of IIT Bombay Hostel Fests

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees are quite feasible. Loans are easily available and the return time period is 12 years after which starts from 1 year after the passing out year. Among other IITs, the fees here are comparatively high but since it's in Mumbai it is logical too.

Fees and Financial Aid

I opted for an education loan and it was very easily available at the very beginning of the semester. There are two banks namely Canara Bank and SBI available for the same.

Campus Life

4

The gender ratio is very bad in college since it's an engineering college and IIT. The ratio was around 1:9 in total and in my department i.e. chemical engineering it was 1:6. The labs are old but occupied with all the instruments and machines. The sports complex is again world-class and unmatched by any institute in India.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel Facilities are not much great but the culture and environment are awesome. The bonding which happens through the events, fests, completions are just unmatched. The mess is decent, sports and gym facilities are good. Hostel rooms are a bit small but that's the trade-off.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, they are very helpful, the alumni connection is made by the various alumni bodies which are governed by the college itself.

Admission

Since I had planned to do engineering after 12th, so the best option in India was the IITs, and Bombay is the best in terms of opportunities and exposure. So I ended up choosing this college. The department of Chemical Engineering wasn't much of my choice or preference. Steps to get admission in the college: JEE Mains JEE Advanced

Faculty

3.5

In terms of knowledge, you can't find any better in India at least. Some of them are renowned worldwide and have a great impact on businesses and industries as well. Coming back to their teaching style that again varies vastly depending on professors. Since the class size is large, keeping the concentration of students inside is tough for most of them.

Students are eligible to apply for placement is after 2 year or at 5th semester. And companies that have visited are Morgan Stanley, TCS, JP Morgan, etc. and many others. Basic package is about 7 lacs per annum which I consider as okay for freshers. And the student which got highest is 26 lac per annum as he was one of the brightest student of the college. I think 50 to 60 percent students get placed more or less maximum are low package students. My plans are different than doing job so not applied at any of the job.
