Great College

As the college is one of the best e engineering colleges in the world, therefore there are many positive remarks on which I would not like to elaborate. There are many negative remarks too. The stress in students during exams is huge while there is compulsory attendance. The labs and exams are really hard sometimes.

The course curriculum as a whole is planned very well in IIT Bombay. But, there are some courses whose curriculum is bad. The exam structure varies from course to course. For a typical course, there is marking taken from shirt quizzes (or sometimes attendance), quizzes, midterms, and endsems.

The placement and job opportunities in our college are the best in INDIA and among the best in the world. The placement occurs during the semester and really good companies come for placements. I am not eligible for an internship as of now. But yes my college provides internships and the striped is really good.

There are many different types of events organized in our college. Our college can be said a real secular college. Events of every religion, as well as state, are celebrated with great enthusiasm in the college.

The fee structure as a whole is expensive. But there are many types of scholarships available for those who cannot afford the college fees. There is no tuition fee for SC/ST students and therefore it is very feasible for them.

I availed of the Named Scholarship is given by DEAN ALUMNI AND CORPORATE RELATIONS OFFICE. The scholarship comprises Tuition fees as well as messing and hostel fees. There is an income cap of 5 LPA for the student's family in this scholarship.

The extracurricular activities are excellent. There is all kind of labs needed for all the projects purposes while there are sports grounds for all kinds of sports. The sports culture is really good for those who want to do it.

I had opted for a hostel, the facilities in the new hostels are good. But there are old hostels which one gets after the first year and they are said to be really bad. The rooms are very small while some hostels get flooded when there are heavy rains. The messing facilities as a whole are okayish.

The alumni network is amazing as this college has been established 61 years ago and it is one of the best colleges in the world. The senior students help very much in the curricular activities as well as extracurricular activities.

I got admission from my rank in jee advanced. The admission process was done by J.O.S.A.A. (Joint seat allocation authority). My rank was 1290 in jee advanced and due to this, I got admission in engineering physics to the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.

The faculty of the college as a whole is excellent in terms of research as well as teaching. Again there are some professors who may not be good in either research or teaching or both. Some professors also give an option to do projects under them.
