Placement and alumini: the institute has an immense alumini network along with the placement cell which attracts the top high paying companies ensuring good job opportunities for the students.it also enables research and further studies.
I appreciate nitc's commitment to academic excellence, with a strong faculty and diverse range of courses that provide a well-rounded education.
I like the cultural fests like festivals being celebrated here which is very nice .

Dislikes

In nit calicut gym was not free we want pay for it this thing i really hatred
Fees are very high when we compared to other nits nit calicut collecting more fees which becoming heavy burden to poor students like me they don't even giving concession most of the people are not getting scholarships
Our hostels are too old and actually it is alloted for 3 people but they are keeping 4 people in a room wash rooms are also not so good.

A review on NIT CALICUT

Likes

The atmosphere is good, infrastructure is good.
The festa are fun and enjoyable and entertaining.
We get to meet a lot of people of different backgrounds and experiences.

Dislikes

The class timings were sometimes very odd.
The food was bad at times and caused health problems
Some people though only a very few were unnecessarily rude

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for internships and gradually placements from the 3rd semester onwards. A lot of great big companies recruit from here the highest package range from 55-75 lpa generally and an average of 30 lpa

i liked the varsity of the students, there are students from possibly all corners of india
i also like the versatality of the students they are ready for anything any idea
i like the greenery of the campus its really peacefull

Dislikes

i didnt like the teahcing system its really on a high level
i didnt like the sanitary system of the campsus
i didnt like the pda inside the campusyeah

Liked that most of faculties were supportive.
Got to meet people from all over india and getting to know their cultures.
Cleaniness inside the campus and well maintained roads.

Dislikes

Still lacks in terms of infrastructure amd development.
Cricket ground is nearly 2.5 kms from hostel that too we have to walk on a very dangerous road to raach cricket ground.
Got some ragging news from telugu students

Placement Experience:

Students from6 th semester are eligible for placement and most of the big companies have stopped visiting our college from past 3-4 years due to lack of quality of students in this college as college is preffering quantity above quality. Percentage of students getting placed are different for different branches moreover you also have to be eligible for campus placements. Nearly 80 percent of eligible students gets placed. My plan is to become a assistant engineer in civil field.

great college for great students

Doing labarotory experiments and culture of nitc ,fests , sports and there is an inter NIT level sports competitions
Hostel which i was living was very good and where ever we go there will be an clean and green
food of nitc in NITC we get nyc food we get every origin of food

Dislikes

its divided into 3 parts going to chemical engineering block from mega boys hostel i

Placement Experience:

from the 6th semester onwards students can sit for the internship , and from 7th semester get preplacement offers , jobs ,bpcl ,hpcl mecon ,EIL,tcs , jsw, saintgobin,L&T , oracle etc.. and oracle offer highest package for chemical engineering students and percentage of placements are above 85% and plans after completing degree to get job in govt sector through gate or masters

I like the discipline in our college nitc
I like teaching skills and education system of our college
And also environment in our college nitc

Dislikes

Small assignments and quiz all consider to final result
Some times bus is not available or it breakdown
In starting we are not aware of how credits are useful

Our college national institute of technology Calicut is good in placements famous companies like amazon, Microsoft,Wipro etc... Approach our college for college placements most of the students get job in placements

NIT Calicut in my view

Likes

My class rooms are very good and there we can feel a good atmosphere and overall classes are very nice
In NIT Calicut wr can see so many resting places like amphitheatre OAT and all
Library's are available 24/7 and we can go there with our friends and disscus and study easily

Dislikes

Our hostal wardens are very nice and they will check on us for every day and enquire about our needs and all

Placement Experience:

Courses are about 4 years btech and 5 years barch and there are so many pg courses and PhD graduates here.and the main thing is the placements and here the avarage placements are about 14lpa and highest is about 70lpa and lowest 5lpa

Placements are very good. An above average student can get a very good package
Faculties are very good. They are very supportive.

Dislikes

Location of this college is very bad. Even Dominos doesn't deliver pizza here
North vs South is at peak during elections which is the worst thing.
Infrastructure is very poor. It is not like other tier 1 colleges.

Placement Experience:

After 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements. A lot of companies visits the campus for placements like Google which made 5 offers, Accenture(15), BPCL(10), BEL(25), mercedes(12), Mediatek(4), oracle(39), Qualcom(19), Reliance Petroleum(30), samsung(4), JP Morgan(3), etc. The highest package offered in 2023 is 50 LPA and average package is 13.77 LPA. 83.65% students are placed in 2023. After getting a degree my plan to get a decent placement and then job

I liked the cleanliness and hygiene in college
I liked campus infrastructure and the environment
I liked the college sports and club activities

Dislikes

There is a rule for the first year student you can't stay away the hostle after 11:00
There is no any night canteen so that we can bring some snaks during our exams night
Only one canteen in college no other food court

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester student get eligible for the placements ther are many companies come in college like bhel iocl etc last year highest package is 59 lac and the avg package is 12 lpa . Almost 90 % people got placed in last year. I'll opt for the placement after completing my degree

State-of-the-art infrastructure enriches the learning environment,while the comprehensive courses guarantee a well-rounded education

Placement Experience:

To the best of my knowledge ,nitc has commendable placement records ,ensuring 100% placements for Eligible candidates .placement activities commence from the 8th semester. In the computer science and engineering department ,the highest package reached 63.5 lack per annum ,while the average was 23.5 lakhs annum. Personally ,I aim to secure a placement directly on campus.

My sister completed her B.Tech from NIT Calicut a few years back. As a female student, she had a bitter experience at this college. Here are some of the things that she noticed during her stay at NIT Calicut-

The girls hostel is very strict regarding outings. There is a fixed curfew from 7 pm to 6 am. Even for staying on campus after 7 pm, special permission is required.
There are instances where you might encounter racism in the most casual manner, this is especially true for North Indian students.
The hostel and college staff are blatantly partial towards female students and those who complain are told to leave the college.
There is a system of daily roll call for female hostellers, which is again a gender-biased rule. The Resident Tutors are not supportive or helpful and may scold you for not attending the roll call even if you are new and not well aware of the hostel procedures.
During LAN work or other repairs, no female attendee is present with the male workers within the girls hostel premises. The girls are expected to follow all the precautionary measures and no strict rules are laid for the male workers.

NIT Calicut is an institute of national importance with an excellent reputation and great placement records. However, as a female hosteller, my sister faced these obstacles which caused unnecessary frustration for her.
