- My friend got a scholarship so i can verify it truly happens and is a great opportunity for students with low parental income to ease their parent's financial pressure
- The college has really good placements, a lot of companies offer a lot of job opportunities and the packages are quite high as well.
- Faculty expertise: iit delhi often attracts experienced and knowledgeable faculty members who are experts in their respective fields. students benefit from their guidance and mentorship.
Dislikes
- The hostel facilities are not as good as expected the meal is too bad.
- The race academy curriculum at iit delhi can be intense and demanding a leading to high levels of stress and pressure among students
- 75 percentage criteria is not good. moreover, classes are whole day from 8am to 6pm.

- College structure and the development done all the years updating day by day every day we have new ideas workshop and new startups development and every student njy there college life
- Library where we go and study before a day exam
- Ground where I make my self fit and njy every evening in the ground
Dislikes
- Nothing is dislike in the college still today but hsptl
- Hstls are little uncomfortable like sharing rooms of 2 members
- No more dislike in the college I faced but course I have issue
Placement Experience:
From 4 year 1 st semester the placement start begins and eligibility for placement on campus life there are all main compines like google Microsoft Goldman,etc...visits on company 1 cr highest and 10lak,8 chpa but 5 cgpa also get placement offer,

- Alumni network is very good and they help in guiding students and helping them.
- Good group of people as they are focused on career but they also uses to chill and enjoy a lot.

Placement Experience:
The student gets eligible for placement after 7th semester while for the intership they can apply after the 4th semester. The students can also apply for the offcampus internship and placement as well.

- Culture of the college: There are people from all parts of India. They are under the same name of IITD and feel United as a community.
- Academic flexibility: the courses are very flexible and one can opt for courses according to his/her interests
- Beautiful campus: The lush green campus, with beautiful structures and buildings are just pleasing to the eyes
Dislikes
- Hostel accomodation: Single rooms being alloted to 2 students
- Washroom : poor hygiene and lack of amenities
- Latency in approval of requests due to old methodology
Placement Experience:
After the 4th semester, a student starts applying for internships (summer and winter)
After the 6th semester, a student can sit for placements.
In electrical engineering, about 50-100 companies visit the campus (some core and some non-core) offering jobs in various fields like core, finance and consulting.
Highest package-1cr
Average package-20LPA
Almost every students who sits in the placements gets placed.
I haven't yet decided what I'll do after a degree but I am looking forward to explore different career options.

- Cultural fest Rendezvous which is north India’s largest fest is very vibrant. The college hosts renowned artists, singers, stand up comedians which adds glamour and entertainment.
- The college provides a strong alumni network and it also hosts several events and mentorship sessions with the alumni. They even support student startups and provide guidance.
- Various Placement and internship opportunities with industry level stipends.
Dislikes
- Extreme study pressure. Sometimes there are 2-3 exams per day along with multiple assignment deadlines which becomes very stressful.
- The hostel infrastructure, despite being functional, is outdated and in need of renovation. I faced severral issues during my time here such as water leakage, poor ventilation etc.
- Politics during elections for several boards or clubs is very corrupt and people with close connections to previous members are given priority.
Placement Experience:
The students are eligble for the placements at our college when they enter 4th year or 7th semester. Various companies like Google, Sony, Samsung, Micron, Microsoft, JPMC etc come for placements with about more than 5 offers on average. The highest offer offered this year is 2.4 CRpa by Optiver to about 20 students for a quantitative analyst role. Other companies like Micron offers 31LPa for core job in mechanical. Goldman Sachs offers about 37Lpa for a software engineer. Bcg offers 18Lpa for consulting role. About 80% students were placed last year but this is expected to rise this year. My plan after this degree is to do job in core field.

- The mentorship quality was good. We get to have mentors from our department which help us guide our college journey.
- The quality of placements is really good which is around 20+LPA and grabbing such a package is quite easy.
Dislikes
- The grading system is a bit absurd. it's completely in the hands of profs. It's entirely his will to give good grades or bad ones.
- It's a highly stressful environment for people in non circuital branches. Managing academics is one of the primary goals over here.
- Delhi pollution. You might feel some heaviness in your lungs due to the air quality here.
Placement Experience:
In 3rd year you are eligible for interns and in 4th for placements. Top companies like Google, Microsoft visit here. Companies like quant which pay a lot also visit here. The average package is said to be around 18 lakhs for placements and getting an intern around 70k/month is quite decent. The people of getting placement is around 85%.

- High Academic Pressure and stress among students at IIT Delhi. Rigourous curriculum, coupled with high expectations can lead to significant stress and burnout
- The demanding nature of acadamic and extracurricular commitments at IIT Delhi can lead to a limited social life and poor work life balance. Many students find it challanging to engage in non- academic activities or persue personal interest.
- Despite premier institution, IIT Delhi faces certain infra and resource constraints. Issues such as overcrowded classrooms, limited hostel facilities, and maintenance problems
Placement Experience:
IIT Delhi attracts top tier companies like Google, microsoft, BCG, JP Morgan, Larson and Tubro etc. Highest package is 3 Cr INR /annum while average package is around 25-30 lakh. Around 85% students secure job offers by end of placement session

- Really liked the crowd here with lots to explore
- Most departments are great and dont bother people going for non core branch jobs
Dislikes
- Most clubs are kinda stagnant but it could be because of covid as 2 of the first four years were online with next to no club activities
- Some department profs are not supportive of the students especially the mech ones and as ive heard the mathematics ones too
- The availability of opportunities isnt fair for all so you need to get in personal contact wit the organizers for most stuff

Last years and around 60 % of the students have been placed. Also the average package has gone down and most companies are IT, consultancy and finance. Especially low placements for core engineering fields

- I liked the campus very much. this is 300+ hectare campus. Its completely different from outside; pollution levels are negligible compared to outside as it is full of trees
- facilities such as yulu to travel shorter distances within the campus
- professors here are very knowledgable and completely changes one's viewpoint about the subject
Dislikes
- people here are selfish no ideal to be made friends with
- no vending machines in LHC between free time in classes
- as of now no other problems except the above 2

- So many extracurricular activities like a wide range of clubs, society and so many events including cultural fest like Rendezvous
- Exposure to the students from diverse backgrounds

- The Curriculum, Particularly the courses taught in the first year
- Difficulty in maintaining a healthy work life balance due to academic and extracurricular commitments
Placement Experience:
Placements stats are good for IIT Delhi. students entering their 7th semester are eligible for placements. Several companies visited for placements like Accenture, Cognizant, BCG , Microsoft , TATA, Quadeye , Jane street, Tower,etc. highest package was about 2.5cr/annum offered by Jane street for quant. trader profile . consultancy profiles are also high paying jobs.Almost 80-90% students got placed.but I have no interest in coding, AI, ML I want a job in core. so I am planning for GATE.

Placments are indeed very decent in all the profiles like spftware, IT, core, product management, consulting, research and development. It is 100% for girls and 96% for the boys. Despite recession 2024, IIT Delhi had a good record of placement.

How are the IIT Delhi hostel rooms?

The IIT Delhi hostel rooms are very comfortable and make you feel at home. The names of IIT Delhi hostels are based on the names of hill ranges of India- Aravali, Girnar, Himadri, Jwalamukhi, Kailash, Karakoram, Kumaon, Nilgiri, Satpura, Shivalik, Udayagiri, Vindhyachal and Zanskar. All the hostel rooms are two-seater. All the rooms are equipped with beds and almirahs. Water coolers are allowed inside the rooms during the summer season. The hostels of IIT Delhi are facilitated with a mess, washing machines, and drinking water supply on each floor. Here are some pictures of the IIT Delhi hostel rooms-
