Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course Curriculum is little bit outdated but still better than other private colleges that's why I choose this college. The course is very vast and covers the basic to advanced level concepts of engineering and real life applications. I would suggest that there should be some technical subjects added in the course which is required for the industry ready skills. The exams happen in two parts, 1st one is internals and the final semester. The difficulty of the exams is moderate.

Internships Opportunities

4

The companies which offer internships are Qualcomm, ITC, Airbus, Pwc etc. On an average the stipend is around 20000 per month. The projects are necessary for the students to get a good internship. However the number of students getting interns are less.

Placement Experience

5

The placement of my college is very outstanding. The students are eligible for internships from the 3rd year. The big giants like Google, Facebook, Netflix, amazon, Tata steel, Mahindra & Mahindra, Caterpillar ,ITC, Pwc, Airbus and many more come in the college for campus placements. In software section, the highest package is 1.8 Cr offered by facebook in the year 2022. Apart from this the core section has also quite good packages. The highest package of my department, mechanical engineering, is 14 lpa offered by Caterpillar. Not only the packages, the no. of students in the batch placed is quite well like in my department the placement percentage is 100%. My plan is to get a good placement offer from the campus placements after getting the degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for the B.E courses are very less as compared to other government engineering colleges. The yearly fees is just ?2400 only which includes tution fees, library fee, devlopment fee,lab fee,and others also. This fee is same for all the categories students. The fees is not increasing for too long till now. Inspite of such less fees , the college provides Freeship facility for the eligible students who got fully fees refunded making the cost free education for the needy.

Campus Life

5

Overall experience with the campus life is good. Every year, Sanskriti, a great fest held in our college in which popular band performs their hit songs. Also there are many cultural fests and activities happen throughout the year. The library is big and there is availability of a large number of books. There is an E- library also which is accessible for the students of JU only. In our college sports day is celebrated with great rhythm. There are many sports club for sports activities. Clubs impacts very much on a student's life. It teaches the team work, leadership, management skills and also a good communication skills of how to interact with people.

Admission

I was a Jee aspirant. My rank was not good in the first attempt. So I took a drop year and prepared for the JEE again. Then I realised that the syllabus for Jee and Wbjee is almost same so I started solving Pyqs for Wbjee also. When the result came, I became shocked as I was eligible for the Jadavpur University. The admission is done by wbjee counselling process. The cutoff for Jadavpur University is around 2k for home state students.

Faculty

4

The faculty to students ratio is 1:24. The professors are vey helpful and gentle. They are reachable whenever you want. But still there are professors who just come there to teach you the bookish language of engineering and forces students to attend their classes which I don't like.

Night Life

5

There is a gym available within the campus. It is not so good though. Apart from this the hostels are also in the campus. The hostel timings are 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. There is an open air theatre in which all the big fests are organised. If we talk about the safety of roaming around the campus at night, My answer is yes , it is safe for the girls also

Course Curriculum Overview:

Regarding examination the frequency is generally acceptable but the timing sometimes overlaps with project submission, creating unnecessary pressure. Exam duration is of 3hrs They should focus more on building projects which can be helpful for students Labs are modern and well equipped In terms of teaching methods a shift towards interactive learning, problem based assignments, hackathons and collaborative projects could make the learning experience more impactful. More emphasis on research and innovation at the undergraduate level could also encourage academic pursuits.

The curriculum is pretty helpful and the additional competitions such as hackathons and codathons are really helpful. the frequency of the exam is consisteny the timing is provided when the academic calendar is out.
