- The lab instruments are not working properly and needs to be renewed.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum in terms of relavance is a matter of debate ,actually, as some students found it useful while some don't. In case of placements, the interviews are more into the overall knowledge and skills of the student not the theory-based typical knowledge but the curriculum make the student understand the core engineering and some usefull skills too some of which are useful in real-life. The teaching methods if are more into practical learning than to theory-based then the cource outcome will definitely improves and the upcoming student will be more into innovative ideas and thoughts not just follow the crowd.
Internships Opportunities
Companies take written exams , interviews to check egilibilty of the student and offer internships. There are different branches for different needs of the companies such as TEXAS INSTRUMENTS provides internship in our ETCE branch after taking written test and interview. other companies are as well provides internship according to their choices
Placement Experience
After the third year end sem, typically students are considered as almost fully ready for campus placements Hundreds of companies come to Jadavpur for placements (including National & Multi-national companies such as: Google, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Texas, Coca-cola, Wipro, Airtel, TCS) In 2025, the highest package is 1.2 crore from the CSE Department form the company "RUBRIK PRO"
Fees and Financial Aid
Jadavpur University is one of India's most prestigious state-run engineering institutions, known for offering a high-quality education at a very affordable cost. total for 4 years : 10,000 ( general category ) TFW ( tuition fee waiver ) category students with family income below Rupees. 2.5 LPA get tuition fee exemption. Almost full waiver on tuition fees, only minimal administrative and caution deposits are charged for SC / ST students. Scholarships & Finalcial Aid : WB GOVT. : Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship : Rupees 12,000 per annum ( for family income < Rupees 2.5 LPA ) Swami Vivekanda Scholarship : Rupees 60,000 per year ( for engineering students )
Campus Life
The name of the annual fest is SANSKRITI and the engineering and science faculty arranges this annual fest every year with huge excitement and Bands from many genres, grewsome mmoments and activites. There is located a Central library which has large number of books from every department and the availability is also handsome enough and the accessebility is actually good. Black-Boards and Chalks are used as well as projectors are used for teaching sports and extra curricular activities are pretty decent but no grade or something is engaged with that, extra curricular are not considered in the curriculum of colleges education
Admission
I prefer Jadavpur University over other colleges as it provides better jobs, better ways for bigger achievements, world-wide connections through professors and chances to be part of great projects and ideas. To be honest I haven't applied for any other colleges through the admission process under WBJEE and got selected in Jadavpur in the first attempt. The admission process of Jadavpur Univesity is done through counselling under WBJEE board and based on the merit in basis of score got in the WBJEE exam. The cutoffs are usually high compared to other colleges in West Bengal and students can get admission only through the WBJEE exam. For being a State University, 90% quota is alloted just for the West Bengal Students ( more information are in the information brochure of Jadavpur University )
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is pretty enough, actually. You can guess the ratio from the idea: in my ETCE department faculty member is 17-18 and number of student is approximately 100. There are semester exams in every six months and also lab-vivas, class tests are held in the basis of the marking system to pass a semester. Semester exams are passable, not so difficult in case of passing and professors helps a lot by giving suggestions. But the difficulty of semester exams depend on the departments and faculties. Some departments make it difficult in case of passing but doable.
Night Life
Gym facility is good, equipments are new and gym instructor is also available. Inside the campus, cafeterias are not available although outside there are lot. But there are enough places for hangouts, crowds and others inside the campus.
