Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum mainly has all the subjects that a specific engineer needs. The first year syllabus was although common for all except for arch, mechanical and pharmacy. The course is overall great, but has some remedies to be made focusing company based study
Internships Opportunities
Most of the recruiting companies visit jadavpur except for a few. Some to be named, visa, wells fargo, sprinkler, google, microsoft, texas instruments and so on. They offer a good amount of payslip for stipend. The job roles are vlsi engineer , digital engineer, and so on.
Placement Experience
The placements of Jadavpur University is very impressive. They've been offered typically good packages in this recession. The placements of the circuital branches is really good which include cse, etce, ee, power and iee.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fees for 8 semesters for a BE course is 12400 for students with no tuition fee waiver. Many scholarships are also available for students with academic excellence and some are gender centric female internships and scholarships as well
Campus Life
Sanskriti is the main event of every jadavpur university student. It is held by all the three faculties, sfsu, afsu and fetsu around march and april. Uturn is the main event for every first year student, and it's so beautiful how they get accustomed to jadavpur. Arena is also a sports event held every year for inter department competition of all years. A tech fest, srijan is also held in april end.
Admission
I got nit agartala cse , nit patna ece and ju etce. The Nits I got were from mains, and i got ju etce through the wbjee exam. I did not get any rejection from any college except for the iits ofc. The cutoff for ju in wbjee is around 3000 rank.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is very good as it contains many research scholars and really good guest faculties who offer projects and are really friendly. We have our semester exams mainly for 70 marks weightage and the rest is from class tests.
Interview Experience
I just got into this college through wbjee fot btech which only has multiple choice questions. It is a quite easy examination which focuses mainly on math and then on physics and chemistry. There were no GDs or interviews.
Night Life
Jadavpur University is a college which is very active at night. People gather around at night. The gym is quite good for this affordable budget. The canteens are really good hangout places at any time of the day. The jheel paar is one of the most known places in the college for it's beauty.
