- the library is good. have lots of books relevant to the course
- the book bank facility is great too that helps us lend books till the semester end
- the laboratories are clean and fully air conditioned and functional too. the new labs are also great
Dislikes
- the washrooms are small and need quite maintenance
- the classrooms do not have air conditioning so it's a bit tough during hot days
- there is only one lift which takes much time when there's a queue for the lift
Course Curriculum Overview
I was actually inclined to take this course so not really an influence of any aspect. The curriculum is pretty helpful and the additional competitions such as hackathons and codathons are really helpful. the frequency of the exam is consisteny the timing is provided when the academic calendar is out.
Internships Opportunities
There are many companies that offers internship in our college especially the MNCs and several other. students can opt for companies that they secure with their own connection and skills via internshala. The projects required to earn internships are made by the Students with the assistance of the college.
Fees and Financial Aid
During the first year, both semester combined we need to pay ?179350 and for the rest of the 3 years the fee is ?141650 each year. This includes tuition fees of rs 60500, caution money (one time) 10000rs, development fee 9075rs, library fee 1500rs, sports fee 1000rs and others. For the TFW the first year fee is ?58350 and for the rest of the 3 years fee is ?20650 year each year. There is no distinction such as categories but according to economically weak section. There are scholarships available as per the government study scheme such as SVMCM that offers 60000rs. And if any student specially need any financial assistance they can approach the college authority for help.
Campus Life
The annual fest is REGALIA and the tech fest is TECHTRIX that takes place typically in March. The sports fest is GAME OF THRONES. There are so many clubs in our college such as tech club, art and cultural, journal club and so on.
Admission
I got selected during the counselling of the WBJEE exam. In the choice filling process i applied to other prestigious colleges such as Techno Mains, BPPIMT, KALYANI UNIVERSITY and so on. I got selected in my college during the counselling and the admission took place according to the WBJEE guidelines of admission. Students need to appear for WBJEE and secure marks and need to rank around 20000 to be eligible to take admission here.
Faculty
The faculties and the students share a great relationship and the mentor system provides one on one focus to the students need in any terms be it curriculum or management or any help in the college. There are several faculties whose teaching methods are unique and helps in study very much. Some are there whose teaching methods need a bit improvement but overall the faculties are good. Our college follows the MAKAUT exam curriculum even after becoming autonomous. We have 3 CIAs out of which 1 is assignment based and in middle we have PCIAs around 2 and then the end semester exams
Night Life
Recently a Nescafe sponsored cafe opened inside our campus. our college canteen provides variety of food items that are affordable. Since our college is situated in the heart of Kolkata there are many cafes and hangout places situated near.
