DMET- Who Is Making a Skilled Engineers

This B.tech Marine Engineering course is one of the best course in every engineering field because only marine engineers who can do electrical, mechanical, computer science, civil engineering work all kinds of work with a one kind of mindset. This curriculum helps us to tackle the real world problems that we can face in onboard ship, as per my aspect instead increasing theories courses include practicals with some hand on project and best question is the frequency and timing in my days semester were conducted in between of 4 months instead of 6months because we had to do different different courses together at that time like fire fighting course, BST courses , STCW courses etc. The difficulties in examination are like same in every examination who will study they will get marks but sometimes university alloted wrong marks and marking was very bad that effects the effort of the student.

The placement is very good in my campus in my time whole batch was placed and not even my batch my seniors batch was placed too. I got a placement in one of the best company Dynacom tankers ltd. There are several best companies have visited in our campus like chevron , NYK , WSM , Chell, pacific basin , Fleet , Msc , Dynagas, Dynacom etc. The highest package is 1 20000 lakh rupees per month and average package is around 40000 per month you can assume the year package from these salaries. After getting the degree I joined my company and sailing.

The free structure of my college is like division in an even odd semester wise like in 1st semester we had to pay 100000 lakh rupees and in an even semester like 2nd semester we had pay 125000 lakh rupees at the end we paid 900000 lakh rupees that was total course fees for my B.tech course including my hostel charges, laundary charges, mess charges everything even you will get books from the college to study and revert it back after the semester if I discussed about the admission fees it was 10000 thousand rupees and 25000 caution money for any damages and security purpose. But If girl took an admission they had to pay less than 50000 as comparison to boys. If I talk about the scholarship DMECA which is a group of passouts from this college who provides scholarship to upbringing the intelligent students for motivation and encouragement.

My overall experience was amazing there were several clubs like singing, band , poetry, drama , dance and sports where we performed and show case our internal skills in front of others. The infrastructure is really nice we had auditorium, workshop, swimming pool, gymnasium, badminton court, volleyball court, basketball court and big football ground. In library we got full accessibility through our college library card.

In our college we had provided water coolers and wifi connections as well as cupboard, one study table, chair and shoe rack. The hostel mess was nice I can say not so good and not so bad it was fine , menu that we had decided was with full of protein and maintain our diet only the bad thing we hadn't got vegetables rarely we got and all the charges of hostel accomodation, mess food and lodging were included in course fees also we can't rent any PG or room we had to stay in hostels it was mandatory.

My college ( IMU Kolkata Campus) also known as DMET is one of the best marine engineering college from all over the world because here we learn how to handle bad situations, discipline and creates the eco friendly environment in between the senior and juniors as well as the batchmates and help each other in difficult times. The best thing in this college is that you don't have to worry about your placement and your character this college makes you like that you can achieve everything by your own self. The admission process of this college is like you have appear in IMUCET then councelling will happen then you got admission after getting good rank around 1000 to 2000 rank. My admission experience was quite nice the staffs and faculties were so helpful they guided me during admission.

As per me my faculty members was really good and strict as well because if they don't strict with us then how will we learn from them, as per approachable they were really good in that they changed in between of the classes that what were we doing and asked questions as well to make class interactive. I want to tell you the name of some facilities in my days not because they were great but they taught us great things and guide us in better way Mr.Eswara Arun Kishore sir and Mr. Arun Kumar Singh sir both of them are really good officers Eswara sir always gave us a one question in an assignment that he was created by own and told us to try and solve it by own as well as he was saying that you can use any book and internet socking right it was we were trying whole class hour but couldn't able to solve but what's the best thing in him he passed us for putting efforts in that questions and Mr Arun kr Singh sir , he has a nice disciplined personality he always taught us to put ourselves beyond the boundaries and face everything whatever the situation will and these things we learnt from our college as well as from our great faculty members. Total there had 8 examination and most difficult were 4th, 5th and 6th semester, 20-30% students were failed in these semesters, main papers were starting from these semesters and topics were relevant from course curriculum.

How can I miss to say my favourite places where we had hangout in Evening after the classes, there were several places like bansi bhaiya's chai, Raju bhaiya's dhaba , vijay dhaba where we had hangout and chill. As like everybatches in my batch too we had several peoples who loved to hit gym after the classes. There were the best times that we had spent in our college life it was memorable.
