The overall courses are good and the faculty is also well
The hostel is good and the facility provided are above mark
The discipline is just like NDA and uniform like Indian navy

Seniors will.have control on you in first year
Chapan and dasan will.be taken and should not be complaining
The timings for city leave is just till 6 pm for 1st year

Course Curriculum Overview

The maritime fields is a very tough field which needs both a good physical as well as mental health The course is not a easy one but a lucrative one The subjects are little bit tougher then normal engineering courses

Internships Opportunities

There is not much opportunity for internship provided by the college but the students can apply for any internship off campus The Maritime field also do not have much scope for internship as it is a totally machine based human workforce task

Placement Experience

The placement record of the college is impressive with almost 95% of the cadets getting placed in good companies and the placement start from the earliest of the 5th semester and the lady cadet at yhe 3rd semester

12500 overall fees including hostel food laundry uniform etc Hostel is compulsory The one year tution fees is 192500 And overall including everything is 275000 The campus is 33 acres and total ragging free campus

Campus Life

The campus life is very amazing with a total military like discipline and all the cadet in well groomed manner There are many events organised every year in the college in which the cadets can participate freely and showcase their talents

Hostel Facilities

The marine engineer course is one in which hostel accommodation is compulsory It is a residential course and you must have to live in the hostel inside the campus only The hostel fees including fooding and laundry is included in overall semester fees and the food quality is also quite good

The admission into Indian maritime university occurs through the imucet exam and person getting under 1000 ranks only gets the college and it is not only the best maritime college in india but also hold a powerful name all over the shipping world

Faculty

The faculty who teaches in our college are all great degree and knowledge holders and provide the best information about the maritime field and they are also.vwry friendly with the studies and always ready ro solve doubt

Night Life

Though kolkata is a very good city but due to the presence of the college near the port their is not si good nightlife As a first year you will get only two hours city leave on week days and on weekends you can enter the campus before 2000 hrs

A comprehensive review of MAKAUT , WB

Placement Experience:

from 6/7 th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placements. Infosys visited with around 22-23 offers , Cognizant visited with arount 15-16 offers , TCS visited with several offers(not sure how many) , that's it the big names. Apart from these small startups and companies visited too. Highest package offered was 11lpa by TCS , 9.6lpa by infosys, 6.48lpa by Cognizant. Profiles were ASE in TCS , PAT in CTS , SET in Infosys. The percentage of students placed was less arount 30-40% , mostly because the curriculum lacks placement prep. I have joined Cognizant as a Programmer Analyst Trainee after graduating .

ELIGIBILITY FOR CAMPUS PLACEMENT: At Brainware University students generally become eligible for campus placement from the final years of their course. For many programs placemnet preparation sactivities such as aptitude training, soft skills development, resume building, mock interviews begin earlier, you can say that these activities are incoporated from the 1st semester itself. COMAPINES VISIT: Several reowned and reputed compaines from IT, management,healthcare,media, and core sectors visits the university for campus recruitment. Placement drive include companines from domains such as software services, consulting,education,sales digital marketing etc. For my domain CSE AIML companies like Infosys,Amazon,Cognizant,Adobe etc visits. Each year multiple students receive job offers through campus drives and some students also secure multiple offers depending on their skills and performance. HIGHEST AND AVERAGE PACKAGE OFFERED: The highest package offered varies by course and recruiter and also with top performing students receive highest packages based on their role requirements and skills. It range from 12 LPA to 45 LPA. The average package offered to students is competitive for a private university and aligns with industry standards for entry level roles. These generally range from 3.5 to 8 LPA. PRECENTAGE OF STUDENTS GETTING PLACED: Placement outcome mostlky depend on academic performance, attendance, communication skills, technical knowledge, and participation in training sessions. Students who actively engage in placement preparation have better placement success. About 98% students were placed in 2023. Placement was average if you have good background knowledge so you will definitely get placed. After 7th semester companies started coming and also there is different criteria for all companies like some company required more than 8 CGPA that completely dependent on company preferences. The average package is 3.5 lpa .Most of the student get hired by tcs. Placement success based on branch and skill.

The placement cell of my college is very strong.From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements.There are around 50 companies visited in the college such as TCS,Intel. Microsft. Deloitte,etc.205 students are placed in TCS in year 2019. 415 students are placed in campus placement last year. Maximum CTC was 25 lacs/pa and average CTC was 5.5 lacs/pa previous year.After Jadhavpur University,the average CTC of the college is higher than IEM. Above 95% placements for IT,CSE and ECE students.There are around 55-60% placements in other department.My plans are doing some great things after getting the degree.

Good for placements, excellent hostel life and good to learn, apply and fun. A college for all round development.

I have searched for many other colleges but i chose this because it is the oldest marine engineering college and has a benchmark legacy, and this college has shaped the merchant navy of the nation. It has been known for producing the finest marine engineers. I preffered marine engineering over other courses because this is a type of training that ensures your wholesome development.
