Course Curriculum Overview
Eng Hons. enables the students to achieve greater awareness in terms of the issues that are prevalent in the contemperary society. it thoroughly covers the issues of Caste, Religion, Identity and gender which are prevalent in the popular discourse. The knowledge of these issues not only helps the students become better human beings but also opens various career paths to pursue in the future from Journalism to Philosophy.
Fees and Financial Aid
the annual fees has remained constant since I took admission in the college. It has always been 13,095 rupees , and is same for each student in my course irrespective of his reservation status. Other than that , scholarships are awarded on the merit cum need basis. A special committee is organized which overlooks the entire process and makes sure that students who are in need of financial aid and scholarships , get them.
Campus Life
Tatva is the annual event that is organized in the college. Other than the annual fest there are also events organised by the societies of the college , for example aaghaz , the women empowernent cell organizes speaker sessions from time to time in order to spread awareness. books are kept up to date in the library , and alongside physical copies students can also benefit from the e resources that are provided in the library through the computers. sports and extracurricular activities happen on quarterly , semi annual and annual basis.
Admission
I got admission through CUET and then through preference mechanism which lets you fill the college-course preference and according to which the merit-based combination is allotted to you. I also applied to Bhim Rao Ambedkar University and Jamia Milia Islamia , but withdrew my admission with the purpose of pursuing graduation from Delhi University. cutoffs for the courses vary for different students who belong to different categories , cutoffs for the students from SC , ST and OBC quota are much lower than compared to students who take admission through General category. The admission was relatively smooth even though I was from the first batch of students who took CUET. Some of the students are dissatisfied with their allotted courses since they wanted some other course and got allotted a different one.
Faculty
From the day one , all the faculty memebers have been cooperative and diligent in terms of academics. as for the student to faculty ratio , it is 1 to 7. All the faculties have been on friendly terms with the students , from time to time they even organise visits to places that will prove fruitful to the holistic understanding of the students. The difficulty in the exams more or less remains constant throughout semesters. other than what the teachers have taught, the students also have to pour in extra effort in terms of covering as much supplementary study material as possible.
