Public University as it is governed by Burdwan University directly, which is one of the best in West Bengal, Autonomous and self funded and the course fees are reasonably low,UIT is AICTE approved institute and has NAAC A+ grade,The Campus is huge, and was established directly by the state government,The Institute became a sibling institute of the then R.E. college of Durgapur,The research environment is good,Its only 100 Km from Kolkata, and is close enough to visit and return on the same day from Kolkata,Burdwan Railway Station is very close, which makes easier to avail public commute to visit the University,Its a reputed Institute recognized as one of the top rated Government Engineering Colleges in West Bengal,Faculty members are very helpful,Infrastructure is moderate.

Course curriculum follows UGC AICTE guidelines and keeps on revising its syllabus every year. The Faculty members are very helpful and collaborative. Course Curriculum is Average and it gives BE degree instead of B.Tech.Every Faculty members are very learned and qualified, and most faculties has huge numbber of publications.Research among the BE students and craze for interesting research works can be observed, as professors induce and provoke research.Labs are moderate to Excellent and well maintained, and every lab has AC (which is very pleasing) and labs can be accessed by students for research purpose also.

Social Fests : Cultural Fest, Tech Fest, Freshers, Fair well, Teachers Day, 15th August, Saraswati Puja, and many more.Life at Hostel sucks a little.Clubs - Entrepreneurship Cell, NSS, Robotics Club, Programming Club (CodeBird), Alumni Association, and many more.Infra: Infra is moderate to good, as the campus area is huge, but maintenance is not so good. Overall Infra is 8/10 and is good enough compared to other govt. colleges.
