Remarks
I had heard a lot about Kamala Nehru and I wanted to enrol in journalism but couldn't get through, so I chose my second option which was English. The admission process was pretty easy as in most of DU colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview
The teachers are really nice and knowledgeable. Most of them have a degree in English, masters to be precise. I also got to choose journalism as my minor. The reading materials provided by the university and the teachers are extremely helpful. The students aren't all present and it is pretty engaging when the teachers take our classes. There's a little difficulty of seating but that's alright.
Internships Opportunities
There are many companies which provide internships. Flairboat and kids five to name a few. With a stipend of 2k-5k/month. The companies recruit interns for content writing, marketing and research, HR and many more departments.
Placement Experience
The students become eligible in the 3rd year. The placement cell is pretty active with internships opportunities almost every month. The highest package offered is between 3 to 5 lakhs. An average of 47% of students gets placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of government colleges are generally very low. 9500 for a year is pretty affordable. The cost of the books altogether is 1100 to 2000 which is affordable too. The extra materials are circulated by the teachers in a pdf form or in a print-out form. I didn't get any scholarship, financial assistance and job as such.
Campus Life
The campus life is pretty chill. The fest season in the second semester around February and March. The canteen is great and affordable. There are department and society fests often in which food stalls, handmade stalls and bookstalls are set up. There is a bb team and a football team. Societies are great. There's an unofficial queer collective too.
